Since getting married, Gu Jiaojiao had stopped associating with the youths at the center, so her sudden appearance made everyone immediately think of Yun Hao.
At once, all eyes were darting back and forth between Gu Jiaojiao and Yun Hao.
When Hu Ziqiang saw Gu Jiaojiao, he froze for a moment before a look of contempt crossed his face.
"Yun Hao, that clingy pest Gu Jiaojiao is back again."
"What did I tell you? There’s no way she could just settle down with Leng Yuan."
Yun Hao, who had been washing his hands, couldn’t help but frown when he heard this.
Li Hongmei had just told him that Gu Jiaojiao was going to live a good life with Leng Yuan.
’So why has she suddenly shown up now?’
He turned his gaze to Gu Jiaojiao.
She just stood there, poised and elegant, her features bright and beautiful. Her skin was so fine and fair that she seemed to brighten up the otherwise drab and dusty youth center.
An occasional breeze lifted a playful strand of hair, brushing it against her cheek and making her face all the more breathtaking.
Yun Hao found himself staring, dumbfounded. After getting married, Gu Jiaojiao had become even more stunning. Even he had to admit that when it came to looks, no one could compare to her.
Gu Jiaojiao’s lips curved into a faint smile. She gave everyone a polite nod, then spoke.
"I’m here to see Yun Zhiqing about something."
The others ignored her formal way of addressing him, their expressions turning to knowing scorn.
Not long ago, Gu Jiaojiao had sworn up and down that she was going to settle down with Leng Yuan.
And for a while, she really hadn’t pestered Guo Yunhao.
They had all believed her.
But look at her now!
It hadn’t even been a month, and here she was, pestering Yun Hao again.
Gu Jiaojiao really was incorrigible.
Contempt was plain on everyone’s faces. They all wanted to keep their distance from a married woman who still couldn’t be content.
Gu Jiaojiao knew they were misunderstanding the situation, but she paid them no mind. Instead, she walked straight up to Yun Hao.
"Yun Zhiqing, I have something to talk to you about."
That little tail was Chen JianShe.
After Chen JianShe had returned earlier, he felt it was necessary to tell Brother Leng about Aunt Leng going to see Gu Jiaojiao.
So, he waited for Leng Yuan on the mountain where he got off work, and sure enough, he managed to catch him.
The two of them then headed down the mountain together toward home.
Along the way, Chen JianShe recounted, word for word, everything Aunt Leng had said to Gu Jiaojiao and how Gu Jiaojiao had responded.
"Brother Leng, I think sister-in-law really cares about you. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have trusted you like that."
The corners of Leng Yuan’s mouth were turned up the whole time. He was in an excellent mood, and he even picked up his pace quite a bit.
Chen JianShe had to practically jog to keep up on the way down the mountain.
As usual, the two of them passed by the back hillside of the youth center.
Chen JianShe was the more lively of the two, his head swiveling left and right as he continued to share his thoughts.
"I think sister-in-law must have figured it out. She knows you’re way better than that pretty boy Yun Hao, so she... she... Brother Leng, that person at the entrance to the youth center... looks like sister-in-law..."
