Athena nodded. "What are you gonna do?"
"What needs to be done."
"I can’t, Cat. I can’t face her... Lord knows what is gonna happen when I do. I don’t want any more memories of her. I don’t wanna see her face. So do it... not just for me but for Ares... is that too much to ask? To take on our demons."
I smiled. "No.. You both fought mine, I think it’s time I do that too..."
"Just promise me one thing."
"Anything."
"Make the witch suffer."
"There wasn’t a chance for something peaceful to begin with."
Athena smiled. "T-Thank you, Cat," She blinked away the tears.
I left the room. Isaac was still outside.
"It’s time."
"Are you sure you wanna do it? You do realize there’s gonna be a weight..." he said.
"You sound like you care about my conscience or whatever you think this is."
Isaac took a step closer to me. "You’re Vixen. That’s the name they call you in the underworld and make shitbags shit their pants. This is different."
"I have already decided."
A ghostly smirk crossed his lips, and as quickly as it came, it was gone. "Whatever you say."

The car pulled up at the King’s estate. The car door was opened for me by Isaac, and I stepped out, eyeing the building. It was like a dark cloud shrouded the entire place; all life was sucked away.
I walked, and Isaac followed me inside. As I roamed the halls, my eyes scanned everything, and it seemed like I was making a trip through a haunted castle.
Dark memories haunted every wall and space to the point I could almost hear them, both things that weren’t revealed to me, but for some reason, I could discern everything.
This place was no home. It was stone walls built in place of a cage, and no amount of luxury could ever hide it.
It didn’t take long as we reached the room we aimed for. Isaac opened the door for me, and I walked in.
He turned on the lights, and Agatha was startled, eyes wide and erratic as if trying to make sense of her predicament.
It was strange seeing her this way. She always held that persona of power and wit; she was someone who couldn’t be touched. The wife of Elias King. But I guess some statuses are destined to be dropped.
Now she looked like a rat who crawled out of the gutter.
Isaac peeled off the tape from her mouth, and she coughed, spit flying everywhere.
It took a while through wheezing before she lifted her eyes to me, those godawful mismatched orbs made my chest burn.
"Y-You..." She clenched her teeth.
I was given a chair, and I sat, crossing my legs.
Agatha looked to Isaac. "What are you doing? You are loyal to Elias, aren’t you? What the fuck are you doing with her?"
"..."
"Get me off this!" She yelled at us, trying to break free from her restraints, but to no avail.
She chuckled, mocking the entire situation. "I don’t believe this... Catherine Lane... you’re the one who found me, aren’t you? Had me tied up to this chair? I didn’t think you had it in you. What will Ares think when he finds out?"
"Karma...? What’s that supposed to mean? That I have finally met my end? There is no end for me. You kill me, and Ares is never gonna forgive you. He won’t speak of it, but trust me, you will know..."
It’s disturbing how she thinks she has Ares’ mind all wrapped up. She may have left a scar, but that was the thing about scars. They always heal. Especially when the cause of it is erased.
"I wasn’t just his lover, Catherine. I was his mother. I filled a hole Nina couldn’t."
