Chapter 155
The next morning, the first rays of sunlight filtered through the city as Julia stepped out of the hotel where she had spent the night. She looked exhausted, her face pale from lack of sleep.
When she had checked her phone earlier that morning, she discovered something that left her stunned.
Her family had frozen every account connected to them.
The only money she could still access was the small amount she had managed to save in her personal account over the years. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to keep her afloat for a while if she spent carefully.
She couldn’t continue staying in a hotel.
Every night there drained more money than she could afford, and with her new teaching job only just beginning, she had to start planning for the future.
After asking around, she made her way to a local real estate agency.
The office was modest but busy, with agents moving from desk to desk while clients discussed properties. Julia sat across from one of the agents, patiently explaining her budget.
“I’m looking for something affordable,” she said. “Nothing fancy. Just somewhere decent and close enough to the school where I’ll be teaching.”
The agent nodded understandingly.
After nearly an hour of discussions and viewing pictures of different apartments, they finally found one that fit her budget.
It was a modest one-bedroom house located in a lively neighborhood, not too far from the school. The building wasn’t luxurious, but it was clean, secure, and comfortable enough for someone starting over.
The monthly rent was only ten thousand.
Julia quietly let out a breath of relief.
That was an amount she could manage without exhausting her savings too quickly.
“I’ll take it,” she said with a small smile.
The agent smiled back before pulling out the necessary paperwork.
“If everything looks good, you can sign here.”
Julia nodded gratefully as the documents were placed before her.
She picked up the pen, her heart finally feeling a little lighter,/ At least she would have somewhere to call home instead of wasting money on hotel bills.
Just as she lowered the pen toward the paper, a familiar voice rang out behind her.
“Wait… wait… who am I looking at? Julia?”
Julia froze.
Her fingers tightened around the pen as recognition flashed across her face.
Slowly, she turned around. Standing a few steps away was Victoria.

Beside her stood her fiancé, Eden, dressed in an expensive tailored suit with one hand casually tucked into his pocket.
Victoria’s eyes widened in exaggerated surprise before a smug smile spread across her face.
“Julia?” she exclaimed loudly enough for several people in the office to hear. “What are you doing here?”
Julia instinctively pressed her lips together.
She suddenly felt every pair of eyes in the office drifting toward them. Embarrassment crept into her chest, but
she remained silent.
Victoria’s gaze shifted to the paperwork on the desk before looking back at Julia with amusement dancing in her
eyes.
She let out a soft laugh.
“Don’t tell me you’re here to buy a house.”
Her eyebrows rose dramatically.
“Wow… you must be doing really well for yourself to even consider something like that.”
Julia lowered her eyes slightly but said nothing.
Because that wasn’t why she was here.
If Victoria found out she was only renting a modest apartment after being abandoned by her family, Julia knew exactly what would happen.
Victoria would mock her without mercy.
Julia didn’t bother to answer. She simply frowned, her expression turning cold as she looked away from Victoria. She had neither the energy nor the desire to entertain her. The last thing she wanted was to stand there explaining herself to someone who had spent years waiting to see her fail.
Just then, the agent who had been attending to Julia suddenly stood up from his chair.
His posture straightened immediately as he bowed respectfully toward Eden.
“Good morning, Boss.”
He then turned to Victoria with the same respectful smile.
“Good morning, Boss Lady.”
Julia’s brows furrowed in surprise.
Boss?
She looked from the agent to Eden, finally realizing why everyone in the office seemed so respectful toward him.
Eden gave the man a slight nod. “Good morning.”
Without another word, he glanced at Julia before asking casually, “Is she really here to buy a house?”
The agent smiled awkwardly and shook his head.
“No, Boss. Miss Julia isn’t buying a property. She’s looking for a modest place to rent. Based on her budget, I

managed to find her one of our smaller apartments. The monthly rent is ten thousand dollars.”
