Mysterious Hotel Room Marcus stared at the receptionist for several seconds.

He could pressure her. In fact, he had more than enough influence to make the woman reveal the information.

But there was no reason to intimidate her over something that could be handled another way.

He took a slow breath. “Fine.”

The receptionist nodded, clearly relieved.

Marcus turned away from the desk, but his mind was already working. A room booked by a man, and only Julia was inside. and her phone was off. And she had never told him she was going to the hotel.

Something was seriously wrong. Could it be Cory?

The thought immediately crossed his mind.

Marcus turned around and headed back toward the elevator.

He needed answers.

When he returned to the room, he pushed the door open and walked inside,

Julia was still lying on the bed exactly where he had seen her.

“Julia.”

No response. Marcus walked closer.

“Julia, wake up.”

He gently shook her shoulder.

Nothing. He frowned.

“Julia.” He shook her again, slightly harder. Still nothing.

He placed his fingers near her neck and checked her pulse. She was breathing. But she was completely unresponsive.

Marcus’s eyes narrowed. “What the hell happened to you?”

He looked around the room. There was nothing immediately suspicious. With no other option, Marcus carefully lifted Julia into his arms.

She remained completely limp against him.

He carried her toward the door.

However, before he could leave the hotel, several uniformed security officers and two local authorities approached him.

“Sir, stop.”

Marcus stopped.

One of the officers stepped forward.

“You cannot simply leave the hotel carrying a guest. We need to establish what happened.”

“She is unconscious. I am taking her somewhere safe.”

“We understand, sir, but you cannot just walk out, what is your relationship with her”

Marcus stared at them for a moment.

He could force his way through. But that would be unnecessary.

Instead, he looked at one of the officers.

“Who is the hotel manager?”

The officer hesitated. “The manager?”

“Yes. Get him.” They looked at each other, but still, one of them went to call for the manager. As soon as he left, Marcus immediately called Natalie.

“Nat, I need you to handle something.”

The hotel manager hurried toward them, clearly nervous after receiving the call. He exchanged a few words with Natalie over the phone before looking at Marcus.

“Mr. Marcus, you may leave.”

The security officers was shocked. just like that.

Marcus nodded.

He did not waste another second.

He carried Julia out of the hotel and placed her carefully inside a taxi and made his way home.

By the time Marcus reached his house, his concern had become genuine fear. He carried Julia inside and placed her gently on the sofa.

“Julia.” He tapped her cheek lightly again, still the same thing.

He immediately called Natalie.

A few minutes later, Natalie call came through,

“I am outside your gate.”

Marcus immediately walked toward the entrance.

When he opened the door, Natalie stood outside with a doctor carrying a medical bag.

He let them in and told the doctor about her not waking up.

The doctor approached Julia and began examining her.

He checked her pulse, her pupils and also measured her blood pressure and oxygen level.

Then he carefully drew a small sample of her blood and placed it into a testing device.

They all waited untill the machine beeped.

he doctor studied the results.

His expression slowly became serious.

Marcus stepped forward.

“What is it?”

The doctor looked at him. “She has been heavily sedated.”

Marcus froze. “Sedated?”

The doctor nodded.

“Yes. There is a strong sedative in her system. That explains why she has been completely unresponsive.”

Marcus’s eyes hardened. “So, you mean, Someone drugged her?”

The doctor did not immediately answer. “If she didn’t consent, then someone drugged her.”

Marcus angrily rolled his fist in anger. and all he could think of was Cory, he was convinced that he would be the one behind this. He afraid if something more worst happened.

“We would examine them further. but that would be when she wakes up. which would happened, maybe after 4 hours, she would be awake”.

Marcus stared at the doctor.

“Will she be okay?”

The doctor nodded. “Yes. She should be perfectly fine. The sedative is strong, but it does not appear to have caused any permanent damage. We will need to examine her further when she wakes up.

“When will that be?”

“Probably within four hours. For now, let her rest. Do not give her anything to eat or drink until she is fully awake.”

Marcus groaned, his fists tightening.”Fine.”

Natalie looked at him.

“I will check with the hotel and find out who booked that room..”

Marcus nodded. “Do that.”
