She wobbled dangerously on the edge of the bridge, her body swaying over the vast ocean below.

Nigel's heart clenched. "Carly, I would never lie to you. From now on, I'll keep my distance from Celine. I won't do anything you don't like. Now, please come down from there."

"Alright, Dad. I'll believe you one more time."

Slowly, she climbed down from the railing.

Nigel rushed forward and pulled her into his arms. "Carly, don't ever do something like this again. You scared me."

Carly hugged him back. "Dad, as long as you love me, I won't do anything reckless."

"Okay, Carly. I'll take you back to the Capitol. I'll hold a grand celebration to announce your return as my rightful daughter."

"Okay, Dad," Carly whispered.

Celine walked up to Perry, then turned back to look at Adam. "Goodbye, Adam."

Adam picked up his phone. "Hello, Mom."

Grace said, "Adam, it's time for us to return to the Capitol. Nigel is taking Carly back as well."

Adam replied, "I'm not going back. I want to stay with Celine."

"Stay? Adam, Celine already left."

Surprised, Adam's head snapped up immediately.

Celine was gone. Her figure disappeared along with the car into the distance, lost in the dark streets.
