Celine blinked as she opened her mouth to speak, but before she could answer, Perry appeared.
"Celine, Bella," he called out.
Adam turned slightly and saw Perry approaching.
Bella beamed. "Daddy Perry!"
When Adam heard Bella call him "Daddy Perry", he felt his heart plummet. A bitter smile appeared on his face. Why had he even asked that question?
He had known all along that Celine had been pregnant with Perry's child when she left three years ago. Bella was obviously their daughter. Yet he had still asked as if hoping for a different answer.
What was he expecting?
Perry stepped forward and held out his arms. "Bella, come here. Let me hold you, or your mommy's arms will get tired."
"Okay."
Bella obediently reached for Perry, letting him take her into his arms.
Perry then looked at Adam with a polite but knowing smile. "Mr. Alvarez, it's been a while."
Adam nodded, and he calmly replied, "It has."
Perry smirked. "What a coincidence, Mr. Alvarez. First Celine ran into you, and now Bella."
When he saw Perry, Celine, and Bella standing together like a perfect little family, Adam felt something sharp twist inside him. His hands clenched tightly into fists.
Perry smirked. "What a coincidence, Mr. Alvarez. First, Celine ran into you, and now Bella."
"Since fate keeps bringing us together, why don't we all have dinner tonight?" Perry offered.
Adam politely declined, "No, I have business to attend to. I should get going."
Just then, Bella ran up excitedly. "Mommy, do you like Mr. Handsome? I can introduce him to you as your husband!"
Celine smiled. The world of adults was far too complicated for a child to understand. "Bella, aren't you hungry? I had the chef prepare all your favorite foods. Let's have dinner."
At the mention of food, Bella's eyes lit up. She clapped her hands. "Yay! Okay!"

Adam returned to Alvarez Residence.
As soon as he stepped into the grand living room, he saw Grace sitting in her wheelchair, waiting for him with a cold expression.
"Adam, what happened at the Apex Gala today? Carly just called to complain, saying Celine also showed up and that you were captivated by her, leaving Carly all alone," she said.
Celine had returned to the Capitol, and Grace had already heard about it.

When will Hailey show that she is Adam's cousin and be ruthless? Joanne needs to be put in her place and realize Jonah does not want her. Ewan is just as bad as she is. Hailey needs to get help from Celine or Adam if she doesn't want Jonah to find out what's happening....
If the focus has to go on other characters in the book, at least make it more interesting! They were separated for three years, and still having love rivals! Especially one from the past!!! Why can’t Ewan and Joanne move in together and move on!!...
Imagine the long read if they decide to switch back to Adam and Celine. Not reading this with the same enthusiasm from the beginning....
