With Jonah here, Kaia couldn't lash out. She could only look at him with teary eyes as she said, "Mr. Pilsner, did you see that? Ms. Hailey yanked my hair so hard it felt like she was trying to rip my scalp off. You have to stand up for me!"
Tears shimmered in Kaia's eyes, and her pitiful expression could've melted any man's heart.
However, Jonah looked surprisingly amused. He had watched the whole scene unfold and was now smirking.
"You know she's not someone to mess with, so why provoke her? Who else did you think she would hit if not you?" he simply retorted.
Kaia was speechless. Did he even hear what he just said?
There was no comforting tone in his voice, no sign of concern, and certainly no attempt to hold Hailey accountable.
Instead, he scolded her.
Why was he like this?
Kaia felt even more wronged. "Mr. Pilsner—"
Jonah cut her off, asking, "Are you getting in or not? If you don't want to ride with her, call your own taxi to the bar."
With that, he got into the driver's seat without waiting for a response.
Kaia stood there in the wind, momentarily stunned.
She was seething, but she swallowed her rage down. There was no way she would let Hailey and Jonah have the car to themselves.
Kaia pulled open the back door and got into the back seat.
Hailey was impressed. Even after everything that had happened, Kaia still had the nerve to get in the car.
That took a whole new level of shamelessness.
Jonah pressed down on the gas pedal, and the luxury car surged forward smoothly, picking up speed.
Hailey stayed quiet. As long as Kaia didn't provoke her, she had no intention of making a move.
However, Kaia couldn't keep her mouth shut. "Ms. Hailey, you're quite aggressive. It's honestly a bit scary how quick you are to throw a punch."
Behind them, Kaia was stunned. "Ms. Hailey, what are you doing? Fine if you hit me, but how dare you pinch Mr. Pilsner?"
Hailey asked, "Mr. Pilsner, can I hit you?"
Jonah raised an eyebrow, smiling. "Yes, you can, but be gentle—I haven't done anything yet!"
Kaia was completely taken aback. Why was Jonah so soft on Hailey?
Now, it made sense—Hailey's fiery temper was clearly the result of being spoiled by him.
Hailey looked at Jonah and said, "Mr. Pilsner, Ms. Ellington said no man could put up with me—"
Jonah smoothly cut her off. "I can."
Then, with a soft, husky voice full of affection, he added, "Is that enough, my lady?"
The way he said those words carried a quiet strength, shrouded in endless love and tenderness.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam)
Such a wack writer....
And now we're onto another sets of characters that weren't included from the beginning....
Nathan and Michelle???...
Thought Celine got pregnant before Hailey…..how come Celine is 3 months and Hailey 7?...
if there is already a surveillance video as evidence for the poisoning of Hailey, why go all the trouble of pretending? Celine is also pregnant right? What is happening to them, and what about Adam's headaches ......
Why is this writer like this! Seems it’s going to be a never ending story!!! Rebecca or Melody, why is she here again!!! Don’t these female characters move on!!! Goshhhhh...
A man with a team of invisible bodyguards that only appear on orders and disappear in time of troubles. Hmm😆🤏...
When will Hailey show that she is Adam's cousin and be ruthless? Joanne needs to be put in her place and realize Jonah does not want her. Ewan is just as bad as she is. Hailey needs to get help from Celine or Adam if she doesn't want Jonah to find out what's happening....
If the focus has to go on other characters in the book, at least make it more interesting! They were separated for three years, and still having love rivals! Especially one from the past!!! Why can’t Ewan and Joanne move in together and move on!!...
Imagine the long read if they decide to switch back to Adam and Celine. Not reading this with the same enthusiasm from the beginning....
