The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 415

"But were you ever actually competent? Do you not know your own limits? Our parents handed you money, connections, and resources to help you start your own business. And what was the result? You racked up a mountain of debt, forced them to bail you out, and then casually strutted back to the family company to play CEO."

"Sebastian, you couldn't even hold a candle to Maloney Jameson."

At the mention of Maloney's name, a fleeting look of humiliation crossed Sebastian's face.

The memory of their wonderful grandfather hadn't provoked any real emotion from him, yet the mere name of his imaginary rival still managed to strike a nerve, even now that he was a crippled wreck.

Heartless and entirely selfish.

Seraphina found it deeply ironic.

"As a man, simply because you were born with the right anatomy, haven't you been handed enough privileges?"

"Our parents spoiled me on the surface, but behind closed doors, they constantly begged Grandpa to leave the entire estate to you. They even tried to talk me out of competing with you, claiming that since a woman always gets married anyway, they'd guarantee me a massive dowry. They promised you would always have my back."

"And just because our grandfather showed me some actual, tangible favoritism, you wanted him dead?"

"You always assumed that when Grandpa arranged your marriage to Nora, he was sacrificing you to protect me, didn't you? Let me tell you a secret. Our parents looked down on the Dodge family. They figured you'd inherit the empire eventually, and once you were in charge, getting rid of a nobody like Nora would be a piece of cake."

"But me? I was supposed to marry someone useful, someone who could elevate the Sinclair family. I needed a spotless reputation for my social resume, free from the stain of some outdated marriage pact."

Seraphina paused for a moment. "You don't honestly think they did that for my benefit, do you?"

"Hahaha... God, you are so selfish! You couldn't even stand the thought of me getting scraps off the table. You were genuinely terrified of me succeeding."

"Hahahaha..."

Seraphina laughed like a complete maniac.

Tears streamed down her face as she shook with amusement.

Suddenly, the laughter vanished. Seraphina's expression darkened into something deadly. She flipped the paring knife in her grip, and in the next second, she drove it downward with brutal force. A sharp thud echoed through the room—

The moment the blade sank deep into the mattress, Sebastian violently flinched.

His pale face flushed a deep, panicked red before draining back to a ghostly white, finally freezing in an expression of absolute, unadulterated terror.

"Are you out of your mind?!" Sebastian yelled, scrambling desperately toward the headboard.

Finally seeing a reaction she approved of, Seraphina threw her head back and laughed again.

She yanked the knife out of the mattress.
