The Don Tore Up Our Divorce (Gemma and Cassian) novel Chapter 198

**TITLE: Before Rain Touches Earth Memories Return With Gentle Warmth by Eli Dane Crest 198**

**Chapter 198**

**Gemma’s POV**

I find myself utterly taken aback by Cassian’s callous dismissal of Reyna.

With a mere word from him, Reyna is hastily gathering her belongings, her flight scheduled for later that very night. Just yesterday, she paraded around like the undeniable queen of this place, her confidence radiating from her every move, and now she’s being sent away as if she were nothing more than an unwelcome servant.

One would think I should feel a sense of relief, perhaps even a flicker of satisfaction? After all, Reyna has been a persistent thorn in my side since our arrival here, if not longer. But instead of relief, an unsettling feeling churns within me at the sight of Cassian’s ruthless efficiency in severing ties.

If he can so easily discard her, what’s stopping him from doing the same to me? How swiftly could he decide that I, too, am no longer worth his time, especially considering he hasn’t shown a hint of affection for me in the last three years?

I shake my head, unwilling to dwell on that thought any longer. I’m not about to linger here to find out the answer. My plan is to book a flight for the very next morning and leave this chaotic situation behind completely. Whatever drama unfolds between Cassian and Reyna, I refuse to be caught in the crossfire again.

I’ll break the news to Zina and Jace later… I’ll apologize once I’m safely back home. But as I attempt to book my flight online, my heart sinks when I discover the airline’s website is down.

**15:30**

I grab my purse and head towards the concierge, hoping to arrange a ticket through the resort’s system. The staff members exchange strained smiles, their polite demeanor barely masking their reluctance. “Madam, your ticket has already been scheduled for a later date,” one of them informs me.

No matter how many times I plead that it’s an emergency and I need to leave sooner, their responses remain the same, as if I’m trapped in an endless loop of frustration.

Finally, they agree to check the outbound flights from Nassau, but only if I can present my passport. I let out a sigh of relief, but it quickly morphs into anxiety.

After rummaging through my purse, turning it almost inside out on the counter, I realize with growing dread that my passport is nowhere to be found.

That’s fine, I reassure myself. I must have left it in my room. At least that thought gives me a semblance of control over the situation.

But the moment I pull open the drawer where I had stashed my other documents, my heart plummets. The harsh reality crashes over me, cold and unforgiving, like a bucket of ice water poured over my head.

My passport is missing.

And deep down, I know exactly who is responsible for this.

I storm out onto the balcony, where Cassian leans casually against the railing, as if he possesses the exclusive rights to the gentle ocean breeze.

“Where’s my passport?!” I demand, my voice sharp and laced with anger.

“Safe,” he replies nonchalantly, and I have to clench my jaw to prevent it from dropping in disbelief.

“Safe? With who?”

“Me.” He shrugs, as if this is the most ordinary thing in the world. “You don’t need it right now.”

“Don’t need it? My flight leaves tomorrow morning!”

A smirk dances across his lips, a look of triumph that only infuriates me further.

“That flight hasn’t been booked yet, and the previous flight schedule has also changed. You and I are staying here for the full week.”

I can feel my fists clenching tightly at my sides. “You changed my flight information without my consent? You can’t keep me here against my will!”

Cassian straightens, his midnight blue eyes reflecting the tempest brewing inside him.

“Really? And who said that I’m keeping you here against your will! Gemma, do you truly want to leave?”

“Yes!”
