**Before Rain Touches Earth Memories Return With Gentle Warmth by Eli Dane Crest**
**Chapter 95**

After finishing our meal, Jace and I step out of the restaurant, leaving the vibrant shopping district behind us. The evening air is pleasantly cool, and I had hoped for a leisurely walk where we could discuss work in a more relaxed setting. But just as I’m about to suggest a direction, my phone starts buzzing incessantly in my pocket.
If an outsider were to observe me, they might assume I was embroiled in a major crisis.
A wave of unease washes over me as I unlock my phone. My notifications are flooded with messages from Cassian, each one more demanding than the last.
Fantastic. Just what I needed to ruin the evening.
With a resigned sigh, I tap on the chat. The first message is a simple inquiry about my whereabouts, but it quickly escalates as he demands I bring him food.
Is he serious right now? I’m his nanny, not his personal chef.
“Are you out of your mind? Don’t you have a whole team of people around you who can fetch you food?” I respond, my irritation bubbling to the surface.
The typing bubble appears almost immediately, the anticipation making my heart race.

“Where are you? Be at the office in 30 minutes,” he responds, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
I can’t help but let out a dry laugh, a mix of annoyance and disbelief.
“I’m not your assistant, Cassian. I don’t even work for you. Why on earth would I come to your office?”
Just as I think it can’t get worse, his next message freezes me in place.
“If you don’t show up, forget about the divorce.”
Fury ignites within me, a fire that doesn’t care that I’m still standing outside, Jace beside me, oblivious to the storm brewing in my heart. I press the voice message button without a second thought.
“Seriously? Is threatening me with the end of our divorce all you’ve got? And why the hell are you treating me like I’m your nanny? Grow up!”

Cassian is acting strangely today, his eyes glued to his phone screen as if it holds the secrets of the universe.

I had covered for him during the meeting, and suddenly, the crew began to whisper and speculate about a potential connection between us. Not that I mind; the misunderstanding adds a layer of intrigue that I find amusing.
But I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. His demeanor is unusually tense, and I can’t help but keep my gaze on him, trying to decipher what’s going on in that mind of his.
Then, without warning, his furrowed brows relax slightly, and he starts typing furiously.
A moment later, whether by accident or not, Gemma’s voice blares from his phone. When the word “divorce” echoes in the room, a heavy silence falls over us, everyone exchanging shocked glances.
The whispers begin, hushed yet filled with disbelief. “Cassian is actually married? That’s not just a rumor?”
“Then what’s the deal with him and Reyna?”
“No wonder I heard that Reyna is a mistress who got between a prestigious mafia couple.”
“I didn’t believe it. But now? Damn.”
