CH 18

So, today he’d gotten a taste of how she felt. Today she’d dished it right out and back at him, and he’d not liked hearing it at all. Hadn’t liked being on the receiving end of an unproveable accusation. She’d made complete sense even though he’d called her unreasonable.

Everything she’d said today was in fact plausible and could well have happened, and he couldn’t prove it hadn’t been like that, because it would just be his word against the facts that she’d already pointed out. He didn’t call to get Christy any help, he didn’t leave the room to stop her from being over mated by himself or his wolf.

He had, in fact, stayed in there the entire time of his own free will and continued to mate that she–wolf for nine days solid. As not only Christy’s Mate but an Alpha, he should never have continued to mate her when he realized something was off about the heat. Yet he had.

She knew that Alpha unit all saw the way Anthony practically pandered to Christy’s every whim, and saw it was Christy that was slowly but surely pulling them apart and destroying their bond. So, when Mischa did ask them to do something like this, investigate formally, they actually went off and did it. Her word was no different to Anthony’s.

They all also knew she was just out to simply clear her name was all, and nothing more, if the

investigation they held, because she wasn’t involved in it. Showed to a very blind Anthony that Christy was

the problem and trying to drive a wedge between him and Mischa. That was their doing, not hers.

Christy still claimed she was young and insecure and Anthony stated it as well, fell back on those words

when defending himself if Mischa brought it up, not that she did anymore. But really how long could one play that card? It had been two years now and she still said the same thing.

‘You love Mischa more than me, ‘Mischa’s so accomplished, how can I compare.‘ ‘I’m still learning how to be a proper Luna you know I’m trying my best.‘ ‘Mischa’s got 20 years more experience.’

When, in fact, Mischa doubted Anthony even thought about her at all unless he was walking past her or needed to actually talk to her about pack–related things. Yes, there was a mate bond between them, but if she walked away from this pack he’d likely just shrug it off after the initial pain of rejection, because he

had Christy.

She got the footage later that afternoon from Kendrick and sat and watched it, shook her head as she watched that first day of her heat. It started with Anthony making his way through the packhouse and bypassing the Alpha Suite to go right to her room. But then it showed Christy had banged out of the Alpha Suite and stood staring down the hallway towards where her room was, that her fists had been balled at

her sides.

That she’d prowled around out there a lot, then had been seen walking to Mischa’s suite, yanked into it and then a few minutes later shoved out of it as well. That she’d banged into the Alpha Suite once more and nothing. No one had come and gone from that suite until the following morning, when Christy had walked out of the Alpha Suite and into the Luna Suite, then a few minutes later into the Alpha Suite once more.

CH 19

20 minutes after that, Anthony had been seen leaving her room to go to the Alpha Suite when Christy’s heat had started. That was it; No one had gone near Christy, not even an omega had been up there in that room that morning, it had been early and omegas didn’t clean suites until after 9am, it had been before

that.

That 20 minutes, Mischa had been in a bout of heat herself, then the shower where they’d argued. Not even Anthony could deny that, so there was no way she could have even ordered anyone to do anything to Christy.

It was clear no one had done anything to Christy, she’d been perfectly fine other than being clearly mad about Mischa being in heat. Showing her she–wolf jealousy. That first day, she’d been completely fine. The morning of Mischa’s second day of heat as well.

She was now dead certain Christy had done this to herself, on purpose and not had anyone help her either.

Kendrick mind–linked to her ‘Anthony has now seen it for himself, now what Luna?‘ he’d asked.

‘Does he still think it was me?‘ she asked.

‘Appears not, but he is now confused as to what the hell happened.’ Kendrick murmured.

‘What else is new, Kendrick?‘ She sighed.

‘You know what happened then?‘ he asked curiously.

‘No, though I

‘Your theoave a theory about it, but that is not proof, so I didn’t say it,‘ she answered.

‘Her heat will be naturally caused,’ she stated simply and cut the mind–link.

A part of her wanted to tell Kendrick to search the Luna Suite, but she wanted to see if that Luna was dumb enough to do this to herself again in six months‘ time, when Mischa’s heat returned once more. She also wanted to see how quickly that she–wolf enacted the same plan if she was going to do it again.

Or would Christy learn from this one error in her selfish need to keep Anthony from impregnating Mischa; which he couldn’t do because she was on birth control. Learn from the harm she’d self inflicted upon herself at her own Mates hands and not be so stupid as to do it again. Giving herself 3 heats in 9 months.

It would be interesting to see Mischa thought absently, and gave her a reason not to reject Anthony and stay here, wait it out. Especially if there was a pup created between Anthony and Christy, which would be due somewhere between four and six months. If there was a pup at, say, 5 months, and then Mischa went into heat a month later, would Christy still do this to herself just to keep him away from her, or was her goal only to get the firstborn pup from him to be the one to carry the pack heir.

Or was it always going to happen to pull Anthony away from her when she truly actually needed him, as a of showing Mischa that she was more important to Anthony. If they were both in heat, he’d only tend to hers and not Mischa’s as he’d done now this time.

She was going to sit back and wait it out, just to see what that she–wolf was in fact plotting. Was she

purely selfish in wanting to have their Mate he solely hers or was she just aiming to be the first one of

them to have a pup with him, and be the one that gave the pack the true heir that would take over and then everything would settle down, and she’d be uncaring of who he paid attention to?

What she did know was going to happen as she sat back and waited it out, was that she would go and speak to the pack doctor and the Alpha Unit and have meds ready and prepared to go for each and every heat she was about to have.

Casually make mention of it in earshot of that Mate of hers and see what his reaction to it was, would he deny it would ever happen again? State to her in front of his unit that it was only a one–off thing. Yet then when it happened again and he left her to tend to Christy’s heat, because she pulled the same stupid stunt once more. She’d be able to prove he was a complete liar and only cared to tend to Christy.

She’d use those meds and document everything, have his unit document it all as well, put it right in front of him as proof he’d lied and had no intention of tending to her needs at all. Couldn’t drag himself away from Christy.

She could probably prove it completely, if she truly wanted to see the utter ugliness of her own Mate’s lack

of care. Simply by inducing a heat in herself the day after Christy went into heat, though she wouldn’t use

her own pheromones, synthetic, so no overly long or excessively aggressive bouts.

But she wasn’t that stupid, or that eager to cause pain and agony to herself either. She also, right now, at this very moment in time, didn’t think that Anthony would get up and leave Christy to suffer her heat alone.

Just for her, and she wasn’t about to make herself suffer that kind of agony again.

Once, was more than sufficient. Though she knew it wasn’t going to be the last time it happened and to see that she–wolf out herself to this pack, she was likely going to see at least three more, maybe four more

unattended heats come her way.

But that was a choice she was making for herself to see that she–wolf suffer the consequences of her own stupidity. The more times she induced herself into heat, the more her body would want to recognize it, and start to produce them naturally. One or two heats were normal, but three was odd to say the least. Four was unheard of and that was what was going to happen if Christy did this to herself again and again.

She would suddenly start having two heats naturally, and then, to compete with Mischa, have to have two more induced heats on top of that to pull Anthony away from her. Then how would she explain all her heats hell if Mischa stayed long enough she could have Christy in heat every two months.

That girl was playing with fire and Mischa was going to let her, after all, she’d started this war, between the Lunas. Only Christy thought Mischa didn’t know how to fight back, when in fact she didn’t actually need to do anything other than sit back and wait and watch.

Their lives were very long and if Christy played the game Mischa suspected she was going to play, it would be seen by all that she was doing it to herself and on purpose to interrupt and affect Mischa’s own heat. Eventually, Anthony would have to see it wasn’t natural, that every time Mischa went into heat so did his

other Luna.

She was a Luna who had the patience and knowledge to understand the game that was being played. The determination to see it through to either the very end or find the trump card and play it for all to see, and then just leave.

She would win either way, because if she left and Christy got to have him all to herself, how was she going to explain that she wasn’t suddenly going into heat every year around the same time Mischa would have?

Something she’d have Paul comment on even after she was gone, he was a good Gamma and would likely support her leaving and make sure to bring it up. Ask Christy, in front of Anthony, why she wasn’t in heat. Was there something wrong?

She’d probably looked confused as to why he was asking, and he’d simply stated Mischa would normally be in heat as of yesterday and, therefore, she would be expected to go into heat today. Making everyone

stare at her, she also knew Anthony would look to her as well. Regardless of him and her not being

together, it would itch his brain until he got up and went and check his own pack file or hers or Christy’s

That was likely when he would see what Christy had done, then fights would be had over it because Christy would have to explain her suddenly having less heats than when Mischa was there. Karma was

going to bite them both in the ass.
