She walked into the mating ball wearing that white dress Anthony had purchased for her. Only a few of the wolves were in the ballroom. She’d arrived early to check on things and make sure it was all set up.
She felt Anthony connect a mind–link to her 10 minutes prior to everyone’s arrival time, ‘Are you already in the ballroom?‘
‘Yes.‘ She answered simply.
‘We should arrive together, not separately, Mischa, you know this,‘ he stated.
‘I had things to check on; it’s not at all unusual for myself to be in this ballroom prior to your entering it. What is the concern?‘ she asked right back.
‘I would have liked to have been seen entering it with you.‘ Anthony muttered.
‘For who? As the one’s holding the mating ball, we’re both in this room prior to the visiting Alphas stepping into it. So only our own pack members would see that, she commented.
‘It would be nice for them to see us together as well, don’t you think? It’s been a week now, he told her, ‘and they’ve not really seen us together at all,‘
‘Hmm, honestly though, that’s not really any different to how they’d have seen us for the past year or so. You out and about with Christy and me… off on my own.‘ she shrugged it off.
There was silence for a long moment before he spoke, ‘I’m certain we’re seen together more often than you think.‘
She actually laughed at that comment. ‘I’m certain you’d be wrong about that,‘ she countered. ‘When was the last time you checked the pack’s social media page, or you posted something about us on there together, doing… oh anything at all?‘ she asked him.
‘That is more of a Christy thing, he stated.
‘Mm, but you’re still active on there, everyone is encouraged to post something weekly. Including yourself, which I know you do, I see it… Or, do you perhaps let Christy do that for you?‘ she asked with a shake of her head.
‘Mm, sometimes she… he trailed off, and then the mind–link was cut as he walked into the ballroom itself.
Mischa turned and looked at him, she knew what the rest of that sentence was going to be does.‘ Was the word he’d been about to state. He was looking right at her even as he was

pulling out his phone to check his social media posts for the pack to see. He wasn’t going to be able to back up his words.
Mischa’s was updated all the time. She posted things she knew the pack would like to see or hear for the most part. The joyous news of new pups being born, happy birthday messages, well wishes for mate bond anniversaries, happy announcements of newly mated pairs.
Teens that were newly shifted, academic achievements like wolves skipping grades, and their pack members getting into universities like Harvard, Stanford, Berkley and MIT or scoring their dream job.
She also posted things like the first snowfall of the year, when the leaves of the pack changed color in the fall. Her last post stated ‘A brilliant red, for this crisp evening.‘ And it was a picture of her wine glass sitting on the snow–covered balcony railing of her suite, and in the background was the snow–covered pack, as the sun went down.
She stood and watched him as he held that phone up to her and then stated, “Smile, Mish, I’ll take a photo and post you in your lovely new dress, which I might add looks beautiful on you.
“It’s not necessary,” she stated. “To do things you don’t normally do, and would seem out of
the ordinary.”
“What do you mean, it’s my social media and so it’s for me to post pictures of you and I, Christy and I, my unit and I even.”
“Mm,” she nodded. “I suppose it is.”
He was right next to her now, and he snagged her around the waste and pulled her into him and stated, “A selfie then.” And she was hard–pressed not to roll her eyes.
He took the photo and frowned at it. “You kind of look annoyed.” He muttered.
“That’s because I kind of am.” She disengaged herself from his arm and then his frown was aimed right at her. “Christy will get upset if you start posting photos of us on your social media account. She’ll feel insecure about how many you take with me compared to her.”
“What?” his frown deepened, “Why would it do that? I’m mated to both of you.”
“It’s nice that you recall you have two Mates and not just one. Though only when it suits you, I believe,” she stated and turned and walked away.
“Mischa,” he grated out at her, unhappy with her response.
“Actually check your social media before yelling at me,” she shot right back.

Yes, he had two Mates, but his social media was filled with all the fun things he did with Christy. That’s how she knew what those two went off and did together. All the shopping trips, all the lunches and dinners outside the pack, the dancing at nightclubs, and drinking at an exclusive bar. Everything was posted on both his and Christy’s social media, only the photos were tagged differently.
Where Christy’s would state ‘I feel so loved and cherished, Anthony’s would state ‘dinner out with my beloved Luna, Christy‘
Their anniversary and her birthday were big events with lots of photos of the flowers and gifts, everything captured from their day spent together, which Christy would tag ‘OMG I got so spoiled, how can I not feel truly loved, such a blessed life I have, love you Tone!
Anthonys would then have photos splashed up there as well, the same places, just different pictures, many selfies of him and Christy all happy and smiling, kissing or hugging, and it would be tagged ‘Happy birthday/anniversary Christy, I couldn’t be happier with anyone else‘
She knew they were worded that way by Christy herself to tick Mischa off, or hurt her, because all she got for their last anniversary on his page was a short sentence with no photos attached, it was to her to symbolize how much he didn’t care. The words were also bland and conveyed no attachment, ‘It’s my anniversary with Luna Mischa today!
There was a very large difference between the way she and Christy were seen on the packs‘ social media. Christy posted every day new photos of her and Anthony on his page, and she doubted it was Anthony doing all that posting, like he’d just stated that was a Christy thing, so that meant she was running his social media.
She hadn’t posted anything on her last birthday simply because he’d left her at the table before the main had even arrived. What was she supposed to post a picture of her eating alone and caption it ‘Abandoned by my Mate yet again for his other Mate.’ She just left it alone, wouldn’t play that petty game of who Anthony loves more by posting about it.
She wasn’t trying to steal him away from Christy. He had two Mates and how he spent his time she supposed was completely up to him and, as much as it had hurt in the beginning, to feel herself losing him. It was the Goddess‘ will, she supposed. She wasn’t a mean, vindictive person, and wouldn’t turn into one, just to try and win her Mate’s attention.
She shouldn’t have to fight for his love and attention. No Mate should ever have to fight for that, it was supposed to be a given forever and always. This could well be their Goddess’s way of showing her she would be appreciated somewhere else, telling her that although here in this pack where they believed in the will of the Goddess, maybe it was up to them to choose if they wanted to remain mated to the one gifted to them or not.
She watched him start going through his social media as she collected a glass of wine from

a table and sipped it. She saw him frown as he scrolled, and kept on doing so. She knew he was looking for pictures of him and her together. She also knew he was unlikely to find any. There were daily posts on there about Christy, all apparently posted by him.
She watched as his hand stilled and then seemed to scroll back a little and then, after a moment, his eyes turned to her, and she tipped her glass to him. He kind of looked a little on the pale side, and she knew what he was reading, that anniversary post which was apparently from him. It was the only thing on his wall about her, and it was just a few bland words.
He walked over to her and reached out to touch her face, “Why didn’t you say something.”
“About what?” she asked curiously, “What did you see?”
“There is nothing about you and I,” he murmured.
“I’m aware that started after your first anniversary with Christy,” she nodded.
“Why didn’t you say anything to me?”
“Like what? You know when our anniversary is, how you spend it. Who gets upset that you’re with me and not her? I’m not so petty as to argue about who you spend your time with. You have two mates. So…” she shrugged. “I guess it’s the will of the Goddess that you spend
more time with one than the other.”
“You should have said something,” he murmured.
“Hmm, and what exactly would it have gotten me? Nothing. I’m fully aware of that, do you know why? Because I did talk to you about this when I was annoyed about it in the beginning. You brushed it off as I was being overly sensitive. Christy complained that I was trying to take you away from her and got upset and, well, you had to then spend more time with her to make her feel better.
“In the end, I stopped trying to tell you or ask you to spend time with me. Saw that it was pointless.” She shrugged. “I just decided to give you what you and Christy wanted. Still am, point of fact, giving you what you want. Because even though I told you what I wanted in no uncertain terms, you chose her again.” She smiled at him, “So don’t complain to me that I didn’t tell you. That’s your social media page, you’re the one posting on it are you not?” she
asked.
“No, I’m not.” he muttered. “I see Christy has been doing so.”
“Good to see you gave her access to that too, and free rein over it just like you do everything
else.”
“Mischa.” He sighed.
“Here come the guests,” she stated and walked away to greet them.
