Chapter 210 Cut the Act

“Nice act.” Stefan shook his head.

Last time at Drizzlewood Retreat, I didn’t hurt this guy bad enough. He’s got the nerve to act tough in front of me again.

Evan sneered, mocking him, “You’re the one putting on a show, aren’t you? You just got out of prison. You think you can buy a car here? Without the Stewart family backing you, you’d be homeless and starving on the streets.”

Stefan smiled faintly, “You know what they say: play with fire, and you’ll get burned. Evan, you need to stop judging people by their looks. Otherwise, you’re gonna get yourself into real trouble.”

Evan threw his head back and laughed, as if he’d just heard the funniest thing ever. When he finally calmed down, he turned to the pretty saleswoman, Denise Hartman, beside him. “Don’t let this guy fool you. He just got out of jail. His pockets are emptier than his head. How’s he gonna pay for a car? He’s only here to walk around, take photos of fancy cars, and post them on Instagram to look cool.”

Denise’s face immediately turned cold at Evan’s words.

She’d seen Evan pull up in a Porsche earlier, while Stefan had arrived in a taxi.

The difference in their status was obvious.

A rich guy like Evan was the real big spender. Stefan was probably just here to gawk at expensive cars and snap a few photos to show off.

Denise lost all interest. She even looked at Stefan with a hint of disgust. She forced a stiff, professional smile. “I’m sorry, but I have other things to take care of. I’ll get another salesperson to help you.”

Stefan glanced at Denise, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Judging people by their looks must be contagious around here.”

Denise dropped the act, her face cold. “Watch your mouth. Do you have any idea where you are? We’re already being kind by letting you in.”

Stefan spoke calmly, “I don’t need your kindness. You’re not worthy to give it.”

He scanned the showroom. “This whole place doesn’t have a single salesperson willing to help

a customer?”

Several salespeople standing nearby heard him but ignored him completely.

Evan laughed triumphantly, “Nice try, Stefan. No one’s going to a loser like you. Just go in the corner and leave us alone.”

Right after he spoke, a shy, quiet voice spoke up, “Can I help you?”

A young woman named Hilda Wallace stepped forward. She was in her early twenties, slim and delicate-looking, clearly new to the job.

Hilda wore the same black uniform, but her small frame didn’t fill it out the way the other saleswomen did.

Even so, her soft makeup highlighted delicate, natural features. She had a quiet, gentle beauty that stood out.

softly, “It’s okay. I don’t have any clients right now anyway. I can show him be good practice.”

ked up to Stefan with a smile, two dimples on her cheeks. “Hi! Which model are you sted in? I can show you around.”

an looked at her, then glanced automatically at the cars in the showroom. His expression ze for a second, and he turned back to look at Hilda again.

Hilda was caught off guard, and a blush spread across her face.

Some guys really liked girls like her. A few of the men she’d helped before stared at her weirdly and asked for her number.

She wondered if he was the same way.

Stefan gave her a calm smile. “No need to look at the other cars. Just show me the most expensive one in the store.”
