In just a few days, the once proud and elegant mayor's daughter had become a filthy, hollow-eyed shell of her former self, completely devoid of her previous radiance.
A chill spread through the remaining girls. Every time Aurora passed the room where the blonde was kept, she couldn't help but shudder.
That night, the girls in the room broke down crying.
"I can't take it anymore! I really can't take this life! Look what happened to the mayor's daughter. I'm so scared that's going to be my fate too."
"Did you hear? The girl who they found had a medical condition has disappeared too! They're all saying… they're saying she's dead. If I had known I'd be captured, I never would have gone traveling abroad."
A shadow crossed Aurora's face. A week had passed. Why hadn't her father, her brother, and Sellers Burton found her yet?
One of the other girls, an Asian girl named Abigail whom Aurora had gotten along with, looked at Aurora—the only one not crying—and asked, "Aurora, aren't you scared?"
Abigail had also been traveling alone. She had woken up and found herself here.
Looking at the tear-streaked face of Abigail, Aurora said, "They only kidnap girls. It's not hard to guess what they want from us. As long as we're obedient, they won't touch us for now. The mayor's daughter was just a tool they used to make an example of her."
In this dire situation, Aurora had gradually regained her composure.
She knew she couldn't place all her hope in her father and brother.
If they never found her, was she supposed to just accept her fate?
No. Her fate was in her own hands. She would never resign herself to this.
Abigail stared blankly at Aurora's calm eyes.
She had noticed Aurora from the beginning. Thrown into this terrifying predicament, Aurora was calmer and more composed than anyone else, showing no signs of panic. She could even accurately analyze what their captors would do next. She was someone to be admired.
Abigail had a feeling that Aurora was no ordinary person.
Abigail whispered, "I heard… we're being moved to another location tomorrow…"
Aurora's brow furrowed slightly. "Yes, I heard that too."
She had been observing her surroundings recently. This place was the first stop in their human trafficking ring, their base of operations. It was remote and well-hidden, with no people around, and the security was incredibly tight.
Two girls who had planned an escape before were caught before they even made it out of the compound. And it wasn't the brutish, swarthy men who caught them, but men who looked like trained fighters.
After all this time, she still had no idea where she was.
She had a growing suspicion that she wasn't in Solmaris, or even in Germany.
If she were in Solmaris, there was no way her family wouldn't have found her by now.

The same rotation blaming Stella trying to get her destroyed. Isn't the writer tired of writing the same foolishness overand over again? This is exhausting....
Can’t wait to see what joshua will do...
Why would the author of this book do that to Stella? Such cruelty!...
So many chapters are incomplete. Missing pages. Hard to get continuity...
Please move on from Stella's troubles, we need more exiting news. Like Joshua discovering that Stella is the one he has been looking for,the owner of the earring....
