The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1826

Harold couldn't imagine what would happen if Stella had really died in the fire.

The tracking chip in Stella's ring had apparently been damaged by the intense heat. The technical team could only display its last known location; the dynamic tracking function was still being repaired.

The most terrifying thing was that there was a charred body at that last location.

The fire in this area had been immense, burning everything beyond recognition. Even the charred corpse was impossible to identify by any physical features.

Harold had wanted to have his men take the body away for identification, but seeing Joshua's state, he didn't dare suggest it.

Just then, one of his subordinates came to report. "Ms. Cameron's dynamic tracking has been repaired."

Hearing this, the tension on Joshua's face finally eased, and the clarity gradually returned to his dark eyes.

"Bring me the laptop," Harold ordered.

A moment later, a man brought the laptop over. However, the location on the screen was still showing the same vicinity.

Harold's heart sank.

A light rain was falling, and the air was cool, the breeze carrying a distinct chill. Following the tracker, Joshua arrived at a pile of ash.

The scene here was even more gruesome than the last. The body was burned beyond recognition.

Jake spotted a blackened, phone-shaped object. He picked it up and handed it to a subordinate, murmuring, "Get this checked. See if any data can be recovered."

The man took the object and hurried away.
