The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 1850

After hanging up, Stella said to Lauretta, "Lauretta, Jonathan was in a car accident. Do you want to come with me to check on him?"

Lauretta was stunned.

"A car accident? Why would Jonathan get into a car accident?"

"I don't know the details," Stella replied. "We'll have to go and see."

Lauretta was silent for a few seconds before saying, "I'll go with you."

When they arrived at the hospital, a crowd had already gathered outside the operating room.

Skyler, Israel Williams, Coleman, and Aurora were there, along with Violet Yancey, who looked completely unconcerned.

Seeing Stella, Violet finally cracked a smile and greeted her.

"Ms. Cameron, where's that assistant of yours, Abby?"

Violet and Abby were both blunt and straightforward, so they had found common ground and gotten along well.

"Abby has some things to take care of," Stella said. "It'll probably be a while before she can come back."

Recently, something had come up with Abby's family. After picking Stella up from the airport, she had gone back home to handle it.

Since then, they had barely been in contact.

Abby still didn't know that Foreman had held her captive for a week.

Before returning to Solmaris, Stella had only contacted Abby to ask if she wanted to come back with her.

Abby had told her she needed more time and probably couldn't return just yet.

Violet nodded, looking disappointed.

She had a lot of new gossip to share with Abby.

Skyler's gaze fell on Lauretta, who had arrived with Stella.

He offered a kind smile. "Lauretta, you came too."

"Yes," Lauretta said. "I was with Star. When we heard Mr. Williams was in an accident, we came to see how he was."

Skyler also looked at Stella. He didn't say anything, but his eyes were filled with suspicion.

From the current situation, Stella was the prime suspect.

If something happened to Jonathan, the balance of power within The Williams Group would be shattered.

With the cards Stella held, not even Coleman, Israel, and Aurora combined could stand against her.

Stella would be the biggest beneficiary.

Skyler asked hesitantly, "Star, did you…"

He trailed off, his voice stopping midway.

Even if Stella was behind this, they needed concrete evidence.

She was no longer the same Stella they could easily sling mud at and force into a confession.

Stella, of course, knew what Skyler wanted to ask. She denied it outright.
