Lately, Joshua had been busy preparing exactly that.
But since Star was carrying their baby, those preparations were no longer necessary.
The aroma of the broth drifted through the air.
Joshua's gaze was like a blazing fire, practically burning a hole through her.
Stella finally gave up the act and opened her eyes.
Seeing her awake, Joshua asked, "Up so soon? Star, do you want to sleep a little longer?"
Stella was wide awake by now. "No need."
Joshua picked up the bowl and tested the temperature. "Since you're up, eat something."
He brought the spoon to her lips.
Stella had no appetite, but thinking of the baby, she opened her mouth and swallowed.
After finishing about a third of it, she couldn't take another bite.
Joshua didn't force her. Instead, he finished the rest of the soup himself.
Watching him, Stella asked, "Have you eaten anything?"
"Yeah."
She fell silent for a moment. "You should go down and get some food."
"No need." The bowl wasn't large, and he quickly finished her leftovers. "This is enough."
Stella's lips parted, but the words of concern died in her throat.
This time, Joshua didn't sit by her bed staring. He picked up a book and sat on the sofa to read.
Stella closed her eyes again.
The room returned to a peaceful silence.
The afternoon sun was warm and inviting.
Soon, Stella drifted off into a hazy sleep.
By the time she woke up, dusk had fallen. The sky outside was growing dark.
The room was unlit and dim.

Under Joshua's round-the-clock, meticulous care, Stella's fever broke by the next day.
Hearing the news, Laurel Quinn came to visit her.
Laurel looked at Stella with a complicated expression.
"Ms. Cameron, what do you plan to do now?"
Stella instinctively touched her lower abdomen, her voice low. "I haven't figured it out yet."
For Stella, this baby had completely derailed her plans.
She looked up at Laurel.
"Do you have any advice, Ms. Quinn?"
"From my perspective, I would advise you to keep the baby," Laurel said.
"Joshua's condition is a ticking time bomb, and the Gardner family's situation is... unique.

The same rotation blaming Stella trying to get her destroyed. Isn't the writer tired of writing the same foolishness overand over again? This is exhausting....
Can’t wait to see what joshua will do...
Why would the author of this book do that to Stella? Such cruelty!...
So many chapters are incomplete. Missing pages. Hard to get continuity...
