The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2054

Stella Cameron furrowed her brows. "The mechanics at the shop are all professionals. There's no way they could have botched the repair."

Joshua Gardner's voice was low and indifferent. "So, Ms. Cameron... are you implying I'm lying?"

Stella fell silent for a moment before replying. "No, I just meant that if you weren't satisfied with the repair, you wouldn't have accepted the car in the first place."

Joshua said, "That's because it wasn't raining yesterday. The dry weather caused me to overlook a few crucial details."

Stella glanced out the window at the pouring rain. "What does the rain have to do with anything?"

A few seconds later, a video popped up in Stella's messages from her friend.

She opened the video and saw Joshua's car parked outside.

As the rain relentlessly battered the chassis, the car's color actually shifted from its original silver-gray to a stunning gradient. The overall effect was absolutely breathtaking.

However, the paint on the rear bumper remained a flat silver-gray, jarringly out of place against the rest of the vehicle.

Stella had a background in cars, so she knew a thing or two about this kind of finish.

It was a highly advanced, premium water-reactive paint.

Years ago, the technology for this kind of finish had been limited, resulting in dull color shifts that clashed horribly with the original paint. It used to be downright ugly.

But looking at the flawless gradient effect on Joshua's car, she knew this was the absolute pinnacle of automotive paint on the market. It was nearly impossible to mass-produce. Whenever a batch appeared, it was instantly bought out. Even with immense wealth and power, it was incredibly difficult to acquire.

Stella couldn't help but ask, "Does this paint also incorporate luminescent technology?"

There were a few seconds of dead silence on the other end of the line.

Soon, Joshua's voice broke through.

"You know about that too?"

Whether it was just her imagination or not, his tone seemed to have softened considerably.

Stella felt a dull throb in her temples. "...Yeah, I'm somewhat familiar with it."

No wonder Joshua said the repair was botched.
