The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2063

Stella placed the clothes in one of the guest rooms and walked back out. "Your clothes are here. You can change whenever you're finished eating."

Joshua nodded politely. "Thank you."

Ten minutes later, he finished his meal.

He didn't hold back his praise. "You're quite the chef, Ms. Cameron. That was excellent."

Stella smiled faintly. "You flatter me, Mr. Gardner. It was just a simple bowl of noodles."

"The simplest ingredients are the true test of a chef's skill," Joshua replied.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it," she said.

She didn't dare be too hospitable. Knowing Joshua, if he took a liking to her cooking, there was a very real chance he would just show up uninvited whenever he felt hungry.

Joshua headed into the guest room.

A few minutes later, he emerged fully dressed.

The new outfit Gideon had purchased was virtually identical to what Joshua had been wearing earlier—a crisp white button-down and tailored black trousers.

The fit was absolutely flawless.

By the time he finished eating and changed, the sky outside had already grown dark.

Joshua didn't linger. He checked his watch and turned to Stella. "It's getting late. I should head back. Thank you for your hospitality this afternoon."

Stella stood up. "It's nothing. Thank you for stepping in today."

Remembering the car, she sighed in frustration. "The paint on your car... I assume it's completely ruined again?"

"Probably," Joshua said flatly.

"Do you happen to have any more of that same paint?" Stella asked hesitantly.

Joshua gave her a deadpan look. "No."

Stella instantly understood the look in his eyes.

He thought she was treating him like a bottomless ATM, expecting him to just magically produce more of the rarest paint on earth.

"Then what are we going to do about the car?"
