The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2096

Joshua looked troubled. "I don't think that's a good idea. What if your lack of skill causes an accident? Who's going to take responsibility?"

Lack of skill?

Henley was absolutely livid.

This guy sounded exactly like those underhanded sleazebags who spouted trash talk before a match to mess with their opponents' heads.

He had no actual talent, but his mouth was incredibly toxic.

Truth be told, Henley had once been so tilted by a rival's trash talk that he ended up taking second place.

Because of that, he despised guys who could only run their mouths.

Henley snapped coldly, "Don't worry. I can sign a liability waiver. Even if I die out there, you won't be held responsible."

But Joshua rejected the offer. "That won't work. What if this is just a trap to silence us? You can throw your life away, but we certainly can't."

Henley was completely enraged now. "This doesn't work, that doesn't work... Are you deliberately looking for a fight?!"

Seeing the situation spiraling, Aurora quickly stepped in to smooth things over.

"Henley, don't be mad. Joshua is just joking with us."

She turned back to the man. "Joshua, Henley was just kidding too. The club manager is a friend of mine, so you don't need to worry about any repair fees."

She immediately changed the subject. "Joshua, which track do you want to use? The indoor circuit or the outdoor one?"

Joshua glanced at Stella.

"The outdoor track," Stella replied.

Henley let out a harsh scoff. "The only outdoor track currently available is Serpentine Ridge, the most difficult one we have. It's heavily forested with terrible visibility. It doesn't just have a series of hairpin turns; it features tunnels and massive elevation changes. Even professional races rarely use a track this challenging. For a clueless amateur like you to try it, you're practically asking for a death wish."

Stella gave him a flat look. "If Mr. Holloway is so afraid of dying, he shouldn't be racing at all. Everyone knows the mortality rate in this sport is quite high."

Henley never expected to be mocked by a complete novice.

"Since you're so hellbent on digging your own graves, don't blame anyone else when things go south."

Too lazy to waste another word on him, Stella turned to Aurora. "Take us to pick our cars."
