The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2115

Stella took a sip of water, steadying her nerves.

She looked at Joshua. "You said earlier that you were certain it was her because she knew the specific time and location, as well as the original token, right?"

"That's right," Joshua said.

"Then, may I ask what the token actually is?" Stella inquired.

Although Stella had known what the token was for a long time, she still had to go through the motions.

This wasn't an emergency, and her mind was quite clear.

"An earring," Joshua replied.

Just as I thought, Stella said to herself.

She then asked, "And you got the other earring from Aurora?"

"Correct."

Stella pressed on, "Then how can you be sure that this earring was definitely dropped by the person playing the violin?

"Don't you think there's a possibility that this earring was accidentally dropped there by someone who had visited the back garden earlier?

"The person playing the violin didn't notice it, finished playing, and left, and then you just happened to find it?"

A faint hint of amusement gathered in Joshua's eyes. "That's certainly a possibility."

Stella continued, "People always have this habitual thinking, assuming that something found near someone belongs to that person.

"But in reality, it's very likely someone else left it behind."

Joshua said, "The possibility you mentioned does exist, but it's not enough to prove she isn't the one I'm looking for.

"After all, she was able to state the time she was there, the location, and the violin piece she played."

"Her claim only proves that she was there," Stella argued, "or perhaps, like you, she heard that piece from the shadows.

"It's also possible she wasn't even at the scene. Maybe she just happened to hear from someone else that a person was playing the violin there at that time or location."

Joshua nodded, seemingly in agreement.
