The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2123

After Joshua left, Haynes had begged for a reconciliation, and Neville Connolly had pursued her for a time as well.

But Stella had rejected them all.

She had refused them so firmly, not giving them a single sliver of a chance.

Haynes and Neville had no choice but to give up.

Leonard hadn't made any moves or pursued Stella in any way.

He knew very well that from the day he hurt her, he had lost any right to be with her.

Stella would never forgive anyone who had ever harmed her.

He didn't want to do anything that would make her hate him.

He felt that just being able to see her occasionally and talk to her was good enough.

Back then, he and Stella had gotten along so well not just because of shared hobbies.

He and Stella shared a very similar mindset on many things.

Because of this, he knew very well that Stella would rather be alone forever than settle.

But right now, an emotion named envy and jealousy acted like venom, corroding his heart.

This was something he had never, ever possessed.

He wanted it so badly.

Yet, he knew that for the rest of his life, he could never have it again.

Leonard set his coffee cup down. "What if he hasn't remembered everything, but just a little bit, or if he's suspicious of you?"

Stella's brow twitched.

That was indeed a possibility.

Leonard's gaze was deep and calm. "Actually, there's a simple way to find out if Joshua has remembered or not."

Stella looked at him. "What way?"

"Based on how he acted yesterday, his hostility toward me is very intense," Leonard said. "If he really remembered something, he definitely won't just sit back and do nothing."

Stella caught the underlying meaning in Leonard's words and frowned. "You want me to put on an act with you?"
