The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2128

Left with no other choice, Aurora was forced to follow the officers to assist with their investigation.

...

Stella hadn't expected to be treated to such a spectacular show before they even took a bite of their food.

She didn't bother offering a fake attempt to intervene.

And of course, she had absolutely zero intention of helping Aurora.

But when Aurora went to change and Joshua promised to handle it, Stella couldn't help but shoot him a sideways glance.

Was he really going to destroy Shayla just to win Aurora's trust?

Shayla had known exactly what she was doing. After landing her hits, she hadn't lingered; she made a swift exit.

Joshua had done nothing to stop her from leaving.

Did that mean he was planning to deal with her in the shadows?

It was certainly possible.

Attacking a woman in broad daylight wasn't exactly his style.

Just as the thought crossed her mind, she watched Joshua pull out his phone and dial a number.

Stella watched him in silence.

Was he calling his assistant to handle the dirty work?

Then, she heard him speak: "Hello, I'd like to report a crime. There's a physical altercation happening here."

After giving the address, Joshua ended the call.

Looking up, he met Stella's unwavering stare.

He raised a brow slightly. "What is it?"

"I thought you said you were going to handle it for her?" she asked softly.

"Hmm? Is this not handling it?" he replied smoothly. "We live in a society governed by laws. When things like this happen, isn't calling the police the right thing to do? I helped her call the cops."

Stella was entirely speechless. "..."

Calling the cops was definitely *not* the kind of solution Aurora had in mind.

Unbothered by the little dramatic interlude, Joshua simply said, "Let's eat."

Stella had no desire to share a meal with Aurora anyway, so finishing before she returned sounded like a great plan.

However, they finished their entire meal, and Aurora never reappeared.
