The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2133

"Yes," Joshua replied.

"And you didn't say no?" she asked in disbelief.

"If I refused her, she would easily suspect that I have no intention of helping her and that I'm secretly working with you."

"...But it's two in the morning! Is McCoy actually okay with her sneaking out this early?"

"I have no idea."

Stella was utterly speechless.

Since when did Aurora change her pristine persona and start pulling crazy stunts like this?

Disturbing someone's sleep at this ungodly hour just to watch a sunrise? Who even came up with that?

Was this another brilliant idea from her idiot sidekick, Queenie?

While she was trying to wrap her head around it, Joshua spoke again.

"Get washed up. I'll be downstairs to pick you up shortly."

"If we show up together, won't Aurora be suspicious?"

"She'd never believe it was a coincidence anyway. Just tell her you've been keeping tabs on my whereabouts. She'll buy it."

"..."

He had even prepared her excuse.

Left with no other choice, Stella dragged herself out of bed.

Half an hour later, Joshua called her again.

"I'm here. Come on down."

She walked out of her building and saw his car idling by the curb.

Opening the passenger door, she climbed in.

The world outside was still swallowed in pitch-black darkness, and the streets were completely deserted.

"Which mountain is she going to?" Stella asked.

Joshua gave her the name.

It was the highest peak in the area, famous for its breathtaking views and sweeping horizons—the perfect spot for a sunrise.

They drove for about forty minutes before finally reaching the base of the mountain.

Since cars weren't allowed all the way up, they parked in the lot at the bottom.
