The Ex-Wife's Triumph novel Chapter 237

Hearing Molly's words, Jane's first reaction was to cover the girl's mouth, but then she reconsidered—having him call Kingsley 'Mister' would actually be perfect to piss him off!

She immediately instructed the maid, "Go tell Thurston to come down."

Sean's gaze lingered on Seven's cheeks, his voice dropped low. "He really does look a bit like you, though he's a lot more lovable."

Kingsley ignored him.

By then, Molly, also wearing a red sweater, had pulled Seven over to them.

She looked up at Ethan and teased intentionally, "Seven, this is the doctor. If you get sick, he'll give you a shot, and it hurts a lot."

Hearing about shots, Seven countered, "I'm not sick."

He glanced at Ethan again. It was just the weird guy who smiled at him before, so his soft voice rang out, "Dr. Sterling."

Ethan didn't smile this time. Instead, he pulled two envelopes of New Year money from his pocket and held them out to the two children.

Molly took hers readily, smiling as she thanked him. "Thank you, Dr. Sterling!"

Seven didn't reach out—Lucy had taught him long ago never to accept things from strangers casually.

Seeing him stand still, Molly asked in confusion, "It's a gift! Why aren't you taking it?"

Without waiting for Seven to answer, she shoved the envelope right into his hand and urged, "Hurry up and say thank you to Dr. Sterling."

Clutching the envelope, Seven looked up and said, "Thank you."

Thurston had just come downstairs. The moment he saw the three men standing in the living room, the thought of ending their friendship crossed his mind—these three had just barged in without even giving him a chance to refuse.

He muttered inwardly that they were going to be the death of him sooner or later. Forcing a polite tone, he spoke up, "What kind of crazy wind blew you guys here?"

Ethan didn't act like a stranger at all, replying shamelessly, "The wind that missed you."

This exchange didn't faze Molly in the slightest. She pulled Seven forward and introduced cheerfully, "This is Mr. Sterling."
