Seeing this, Lucy Lynwood led the group back to the hotel.
An hour after Bacchus Sherwood left the hospital, Kingsley finally woke up in his ward.
He turned his head to look at Thurston, who was curled up on the sofa catching up on sleep. His voice was still slightly hoarse. "Why didn't you go home?"
Thurston's eyes snapped open, his tone laced with dissatisfaction. "My home is practically torn apart because of you. Where am I supposed to go?"
"Even if I hadn't gone to your place today, you still would've been kicked out." Kingsley rubbed his throbbing temples, the dizziness having mostly subsided.
Shane, who was also keeping watch, reached out and pressed the call bell by the bed to get a doctor for a check-up.
Thurston didn't argue. Even without this mess, he would probably be the only one left at home anyway, returning to an empty house.
A few minutes later, a doctor walked in, asked about Kingsley's condition, and performed a brief examination.
Just as the doctor was about to leave, Kingsley impatiently asked, "When can I be discharged?"
Thurston's eyes widened in disbelief. "Can't you just stay put? Lucy covered your medical bills. Are you feeling bad about the money?"
"I have things to do. I don't want to stay in the hospital." Kingsley frowned, a hint of anxiety in his voice.
"I still have a score to settle with Ethan. Winning Lucy back was already hard enough, and now that he's running his mouth, it's going to be even harder."
Thurston let out an exasperated laugh, unable to hold back his harsh words.
"Keep pushing it! When your body gives out, Lucy will look down on you even more, and even Seven won't want anything to do with you!"
Despite his scolding, he pulled out his phone, opened a newly received message, and forwarded a video of Seven from Jane Lambert's social media to Kingsley. Softening his tone, he muttered, "Look at your son and just stay in bed."
