The spiritual light, infused with half the phantom power, collided with the darkness.
Scarlett Jennings felt as though the surrounding darkness shattered like glass. Looking up, she found herself seemingly transported to another domain.
Unlike the original empty domain, this place was lush with green grass and colorful flowers, surrounded by endless mountain ranges. The figure in front of her seemed to gain more vibrant hues in this vast domain.
Scarlett was momentarily stunned, but quickly realized what was happening.
This place closely resembled the mountain range she saw in her dream, where she slept.
Was she dreaming again?
But why did this feel so real this time? She could even finally see the appearance of the woman before her.
With snow-white hair trailing the ground and ten tails gently swaying, the woman’s eyes lifted slightly, revealing... her own face.
This woman, who had only appeared in her dreams, had a face identical to hers, yet inexplicably felt completely different.
Having experienced the events just now, Scarlett knew she should be wary of the Ten-tailed Sky Fox before her.
Yet, for some reason, she felt no malice towards herself and even sensed an intimate bond of spiritual alignment.
"Who... are you?"
Scarlett finally couldn’t hold back and asked aloud.
The woman looked at her, her gaze gentle like water nourishing all things. When she spoke, her voice, though identical, bore a serene clarity,
"Haven’t you already guessed?"
She said,
"I am you."
Scarlett’s eyes trembled slightly, wanting to ask more, but she saw the domain they were in slowly collapsing and being submerged in mist.
The woman withdrew her gaze from the surroundings and looked at her again, saying simply,
"We weren’t supposed to meet yet, but since we have, I’ll give you a gift in advance."
As she spoke, she raised her hand, lightly touching Scarlett’s forehead just as Emily Hearne had done before.
Scarlett felt as though a sealing at the spot of touch had been lifted, and the demonic power that belonged to her flowed back into her body, feeling different yet enriched.
Scarlett instinctively tried to understand the sensation, but when she looked up again, the woman before her had swiftly melded into the mist.
The beautiful fox tails disappeared into the fog, along with the layered mountains, and in an instant, she seemed to have returned to her original Mind Domain.
When the Spiritual Screen once again displayed the situation within the domain, everyone watching the scenes on all the screens were bewildered.
Although the screen had been lost for only a few minutes, the scenery within the domain had changed.
Half of the competitors had dispelled the phantom in front of them, beginning to explore in other directions outside that domain.
In the domain where Scarlett was, there was likewise no one else.
However, unlike the others, she still stood in place, eyes tightly closed, enveloped by a faint gentle light, as if she was in a state of self-induced slumber.
Samuel Chalmers and the others were unsure what had happened just now, when suddenly another figure intrusively entered what should have been Scarlett’s isolated domain.
According to the rules of the second contest, one could leave the domain upon dispelling the phantom, simply by regrouping with their teammates would allow an early exit from the Mind Domain.
Everyone assumed it was a teammate from Scarlett’s group coming to find her. However, as the figure on the screen became clear, they realized it was someone none of them had expected.
