Albert Lester only felt his breathing slightly stifled, his heart couldn’t help but beat rapidly. That was his uncontrollable reaction every time he saw his prey, but this time, besides excitement, there was an inexplicable trace of... fear.
"Scarlett Jennings."
He forced himself to remain calm, ignoring the sense of oppression at the sight of the person in front of him, grinned to make himself look more like a pervert.
"Do you know who I am?"
Every time he killed someone, his eyes shone brightly, and those who were about to be killed saw his eyes and were filled with terror.
Especially those girls, who would get weak at the knees when they met his gaze.
He thought that the Scarlett Jennings in front of him, who was only about twenty years old, would be like that too. But she merely glanced at him indifferently.
That glance, how do I say it? Carried an oppression not typical of someone her age, it seemed less like looking at him and more like peering through his skin to see the soul of his body.
At least at that moment, Albert Lester genuinely felt as if his soul was being locked.
"What, what do you want to do to me?"
His voice involuntarily trembled, yet Scarlett Jennings ignored him. The bad debts on this person were of a level that made her uncomfortable to even look at twice.
If it weren’t for letting him be an example to enrich today’s lecture, Scarlett Jennings would have let him taste the suffering of Hell ahead of time.
Circumventing Albert Lester, she directly walked into the room and frowned upon seeing the bomb on the ground.
The staff member nearby then said,
"This bomb needs to be received by the people from the official side, but I’ve already added a layer of barrier, so even if it explodes, there won’t be any issue."
Scarlett Jennings nodded, thought for a moment, and then said, "Let me have the little one try if it can directly cut off the internal wires."
The person was stunned, wanting to ask who the little one was, when Scarlett Jennings took out a piece of Talisman Paper, the rune contracted, Ghost Wind, and as the Rune Order rose, the two people in the room saw a chubby little spirit baby summoned and appear.
It was the earliest spirit baby Scarlett Jennings had taken in, though compared to the initial little ginseng doll appearance, the little one had now grown a circle larger, and besides looking chubbier, there was a faint scattering of Golden Light from its body.
The little spirit baby came out and immediately hugged Scarlett Jennings’s arm, rubbing against it, Scarlett Jennings pointed at the bomb on the ground and let it drill in to try.
The little spirit baby heard the instruction, without hesitation, passed through the barrier and drilled into the bomb.
The Security Bureau staff watching beside was amazed, "It can dismantle bombs?"
Scarlett Jennings said, "It can’t dismantle, but it can stop this bomb from exploding."
Scarlett Jennings was busy with cultivation for the past two years and hadn’t really taken care of it, the little spirit baby would boringly burrow back and forth in various domains on its own, had grown plump munching on data traffic, now whenever it involved network domains and wires, those were fields it could freely roam.
Sure enough, the little spirit baby went around inside, quickly drilled out, shook off the possible gunpowder smell on its body, then stepped its little fat legs back to Scarlett Jennings, seeking credit.
"Scarlett, I’m awesome."
Scarlett Jennings lightly tapped its head, "Reward you with two pieces of toast."
The little one immediately squinted its eyes happily.
Toast, that’s the taste of mom, its favorite.
While they were talking, Sophie Harper led a group of little ghosts floating over, a dark mass. The little ghosts saw Albert Lester tied up by the Spirit Light Chain like a dead dog, couldn’t help but their eyes reddened, desperately wanted to rush over and bite off his soul piece by piece.
One new ghost, however, looked eagerly at Scarlett Jennings ahead, couldn’t believe it. When alive, she didn’t get the chance to see her "daughter"; now dead, relying on this murderer, she got to see the daughter in person.
