Let Madam Lai go out first.
Scarlett Jennings silently picked up the milk tea on the table and took a sip,
"It’s a bit too sweet."
Upon hearing this, "Arwen" twitched her ears, stepped forward, sat down casually beside her, grabbed the cup from Scarlett’s hand, and took a sip, then another,
"Sweet? I think it’s quite delicious. What is this?"
Scarlett Jennings silently watched her with a familiar demeanor. Although she transformed into Arwen’s appearance, she clearly didn’t even try to pretend.
After a moment of silence, Scarlett Jennings answered her question.
"Milk tea."
It was prepared according to a modern recipe by Samuel Chalmers to satisfy her cravings.
Seeing this ancestor showing a clear interest in the milk tea in her hand, Scarlett Jennings silently handed her the jade straw beside her.
Arwen curiously took the straw, inserted it into the cup, and sucked, the milk tea mixed with the garnish was instantly drawn into her mouth, she subconsciously chewed.
The little girl’s eyes lit up noticeably, and she immediately took another big sip.
Scarlett Jennings watched her and directly called,
"Althea."
The Althea-version of Arwen glanced at her, and while she seemed to agree, she continued to focus on sipping the garnish.
Scarlett Jennings then directly asked her,
"Did you disguise yourself as Arwen to enter the palace for Damian Carlson who was with you before?"
Upon hearing Damian Carlson’s name, Althea’s motions while drinking milk tea finally paused. She glanced at her,
"Who told you I came for him? I’m not here for him! I’m here for you!"
"Oh," Scarlett Jennings asked, "Do you need anything with me?"
Althea squinted at her, and after a long pause, said,
"I just want to see what you’re like."
Even though she could easily see the soul from the Otherworld inside her, she couldn’t penetrate the true essence of Scarlett’s Divine Soul.
Despite being a Divine Soul she had never seen, it inexplicably gave her a familiar pull.
This feeling was something Althea had never experienced before.
So she wanted to know what she was... and incidentally keep an eye on that dragon Damian Carlson.
Because of her transformation, Althea before her no longer had the oppressive feeling she had in the Domain, and Scarlett Jennings couldn’t sense a bit of hostility from her, so she relaxed and spoke with her normally,
"Did you help Arwen return as a Walking Corpse?"
Though she didn’t sense any demonic power from the Ten-tailed Sky Fox in Arwen, she detected a slight hint in Althea’s presence, so she guessed then that the ’person’ behind Arwen was her.
As for why she helped Arwen come back to life for revenge, Scarlett Jennings didn’t know.
If there hadn’t been any karma between them, then helping Arwen was probably just something this ancestor did casually.
Indeed, upon hearing Scarlett Jennings’ inquiry, Althea shook her foot, casually saying,
"Yes, I helped her when I saw her."
She didn’t frequent the Human Realm much, but occasionally she would help some interesting souls she encountered.
Arwen and that person named Eira were like that.
The Ten-tailed Sky Fox could connect with the Heavenly Dao, and naturally, she could glimpse the past and future, so seeing that the person who caused her death was her childhood friend, Althea couldn’t help but be curious.
What is human nature?
"I assisted her in finding her killer as a Walking Corpse, intending to see how she would avenge herself, but it was quite disappointing."
Because that woman named Arwen never thought about dragging her friend down to Hell.
The so-called revenge was just staring at her every day, silently scaring her.
