Otherworld.
Ashton Todd was squatting by the roadside with Stella Gibson.
Greta stood behind them, tall and proper, like a bodyguard.
After two years of cultivation, Greta looked and acted no different from an ordinary person.
Even a Master from their original world wouldn’t recognize him as an Undying Bone, let alone in this otherworld.
Perhaps noticing how conspicuous he was, Ashton Todd waved him over to squat down with them.
Greta didn’t understand but complied anyway.
The three of them sat squatting by the roadside.
They had only been in the otherworld for less than half an hour.
"It’s all your fault, showing off to me! Now look, we can’t get back!"
Stella Gibson couldn’t help but smack Ashton Todd on the arm.
Ashton Todd got hit, but didn’t dare to get angry at her, and muttered softly,
"Didn’t you say you got rejected by the otherworld last time? I was just helping you test it, you know."
Ashton Todd did hear during his study of arrays that the otherworld only allows people who don’t exist in it to enter. He didn’t do anything special when researching the array that connects to the otherworld, yet when he tested it with her, both got sucked in.
Greta wasn’t affected, but when he saw them getting pulled in by the array, he instantly teleported to Stella Gibson’s side and ended up coming along.
But thanks to Greta being there, the two ordinary people who couldn’t use Spiritual Power at least felt a bit more confident.
Stella Gibson sighed again,
"I wonder if Scarlett heard our phone conversation. Will she come to save us?"
"Of course she will, she’s awakened now. Even if she can’t come herself, she’ll send someone else..."
Ashton Todd said, suddenly rubbing his stomach,
"Sitting here isn’t a solution. Why don’t we find a place to eat?"
He wasn’t sure if the mobile payment from their original world would work.
Soon, Ashton Todd discovered the answer—
It wouldn’t.
Forget about mobile payments, their phones couldn’t even connect to this world’s network.
Seeing Stella Gibson a bit downhearted, Ashton Todd patted his chest,
"No big deal, with me here, you’ll definitely get to eat!"
Ashton Todd immediately scouted around the restaurants on the street, then chose a mid-sized one and walked in with a confident demeanor.
After a brief glance around the place, he mysteriously spoke up,
"Wrong, wrong... This store’s layout, it’s all wrong."
Ashton Todd was still wearing the Taoism Academy uniform, barely keeping up some semblance of a Taoist. Even without Spiritual Power, and his usual Face Reading showing no results.
The past and future of everyone’s faces in this world seemed shrouded by the mysteries of heaven, making it impossible to see.
But at least he could still check the geomancy.
The spiel for divination and geomancy was the same.
"Ingredients are fresh and transparent, all meals are cooked on the spot, no pre-made dishes..."
Ashton Todd immediately realized he was live-streaming; with the fierce competition among restaurants, they used every trick possible.
Seeing the camera sweep over the store’s environment, Ashton Todd quickly ducked his head, and pushed Stella Gibson’s head down as well.
The owner was just casually live-streaming but noticed Ashton Todd’s deliberate avoidance. Realizing they had fallen on hard times and were prideful at their age, he felt a bit embarrassed and quickly moved the camera away to avoid filming them.
Ashton Todd didn’t bother explaining the misunderstanding; it’s not that he feared embarrassment from freeloading, but their faces really couldn’t appear on camera.
After all, they’re not from this world, and there’s another Ashton Todd and Stella Gibson in the otherworld. If they appeared on camera and were seen by their otherworld counterparts, they could get into trouble.
With their unknown status in the otherworld, Ashton Todd and Stella Gibson had to avoid bringing about unnecessary trouble.
Stella Gibson knew this well, so when he pushed her head down, she didn’t resist, and continued eating quietly.
The owner, avoiding them, turned the camera towards the door. In the next moment, a woman appeared at the doorway, holding a dog that looked like a Samoyed, tilting its head at the people standing there.
Seeing the woman and "dog" come in, the owner quickly put away his phone to greet them, "Would you like to eat?"
The woman shook her head, "No, I’m not here to eat."
She said, pointing gently at Ashton Todd and Stella Gibson, seated with their backs to the door, "I’m here for them."
Both eating, they sensed something, turned around, and upon recognizing the newcomer.
Stella Gibson’s eyes lit up instantly, dropping the rib she held and lunged forward,
"Ahhh! Jasmine Hamilton!!!"
