Predetermined life span, Impermanence guides the way.
"Wuthering Atkins, your hour has come."
As Violet Allen finished speaking, she saw a soul body emerge from the fallen employee’s body.
The surrounding staff were startled by yet another unexpected event.
Quickly, people gathered around where the employee had fallen.
Crying for help and the sound of ambulances resonated throughout, but Violet and the employee’s soul watched the scene unfold from the side.
New souls usually struggle to accept the fact of their death.
The man called Wuthering Atkins couldn’t believe it,
"I’ve died? Impossible, I just had a company physical last month, I’m clearly in good health!"
Shouting his disbelief, he tried to return to his body.
Sebastian Carew watched from afar, and stood frozen in place, feeling as though his feet were unbearably heavy, preventing him from approaching.
Violet didn’t look at Sebastian anymore, nor did she stop the man’s actions.
She’s seen too many ghosts who died suddenly and unwillingly. In such cases, a Ghost Messenger could simply bind the soul and take it away, but Violet prefers to give them a chance to struggle.
She considers it a process of acceptance for the new soul to avoid dragging unwillingness and resentment into reincarnation.
She thought this was a similar situation.
Once a soul realizes they can’t return to their body, they will accept the fact that they are deceased.
However, in front of her, as Wuthering Atkins returned to his body, he wasn’t simply thrown out like other new souls; instead, he was pulled back for a moment, only to be thrown out again due to some force.
The moment was brief, brief enough to be overlooked.
But Violet noticed something was amiss immediately.
"Come here."
She called to Wuthering Atkins’s soul, but he thought she intended to take his soul to the Underworld, so he clung to his body, wailing,
"No! I won’t go! I don’t want to go with you, wuuu..."
Impatient, Violet ordered,
"Get over here quickly!"
As she spoke, the mourning stick in her hand transformed into a paper rope, binding Wuthering Atkins’s soul and dragging him to her.
Seeing this, Sebastian couldn’t stand still any longer. He hurried over in a few quick steps, attempting to plea.
"Shut up."
Violet directly reprimanded him, her expression unprecedentedly serious.
Then, she flipped the handle of the mourning stick before suddenly stabbing it towards Wuthering Atkins’s forehead.
A red Dharma Seal appeared on Wuthering Atkins’s forehead, causing him to cry out in fright.
Sebastian remained frozen, not knowing what he could do.
But Violet, observing the red seal slowly dissipating from Wuthering Atkins’s forehead, suddenly laughed.
How to describe the laugh?
With her attire, it was somewhat eerie.
"Hehe... it’s been so long since I encountered a deception messing with my KPIs..."
Violet’s laughter carried a slight chill.
Though Sebastian was confused, he couldn’t help quietly asking upon hearing her mention of deception,
"So, was it a mistake?"
