There was even more than she’d expected, clearly because Elizabeth had gone out of her way to include extra.
And on the other side, something made Zaylee let out a soft, delighted gasp.
“Oh. There are apples too, and… Amethyst Delight.”

Amethyst Delight was one of her favorite fruits. This melon was notoriously demanding when it came to growing conditions. It required stable temperature and humidity, specific soil composition, and ample but gentle sunlight.
Even on the kingdom’s most advanced agricultural planets, its yield was extremely limited. The price was so outrageous it bordered on absurdity, and it was usually supplied only to the royal family and the highest–ranking nobility. Even with the Hewitts‘ status, the amount they received in a year was limited.
Carefully, Zaylee took out one Amethyst Delight from the storage button. It wasn’t large, only a little bigger than an adult fist. Its skin was covered in interwoven dark purple and deep green netting, and it gave off a faint, distinctive fragrance.
From appearance alone, it was already more beautiful than any Amethyst Delight she’d ever eaten before.
Unable to wait any longer, she had someone bring over a silver fruit knife and a plate, then personally washed and cut open the precipus melon.
The instant the blade sliced through the rind, an even richer sweetness filled the air, a delicate fragrance blending honey and floral notes. The flesh inside was a translucent pale violet, with the center brimming with syrup–like juice.
Zaylee lifted a small piece with a silver fork and placed it in her mouth. The next moment, her eyes narrowed in pure satisfaction, her whole body seeming to sink into that ultimate sweetness and freshness.
The flesh was silky and free of fiber, melting the moment it touched her tongue. Its pure sweetness carried just the right trace of acidity, and the juice was astonishingly abundant.
Even after swallowing, the fragrance lingered on her lips and teeth, the aftertaste stretching on and on. It even gave a noticeable lift to the slight mental fatigue she’d been feeling from socializing.
“My goodness… this… this tastes even better than the melons reserved for the royal family.” Zaylee couldn’t help taking several more bites, her face openly glowing with amazement and delight.
She could even feel that the melon carried some gentle energy within it, something that seemed a little more pronounced than what she’d experienced from the strawberries and potatoes.
“Where did this child find fruit of such incredible quality?”
The curiosity and fondness swelling inside her for Elizabeth were almost overflowing. If not for wanting to respect Elizabeth’s privacy, she would’ve already sent someone to find out.
Only after she’d fully appreciated her own surprise did Zaylee pick up the storage button meant for Cristian. She sent her mental power inside and found the contents similarly sorted, with a generous amount of strawberries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. There were several times more than in the portion for her and Trevor. But there were no apples. And no Amethyst Delight.
