Cesar was clear about it. This was no longer just hype or word of mouth, but the beginnings of a “resource” powerful enough to
shake the current order.
If the Knights could get on board, especially if they could resolve their heir Zachary’s hidden mental power issue, then the family’s future would be limitless.
If they were completely shut out, not only would Zachary’s personal future be at risk, but the Knights themselves could fall behind in the increasingly fierce competition.
Time waited for no one, and opportunities could slip away in an instant.
Cesar took a deep breath, as if making up his mind. His gaze hardened like a ruthless man ready to burn his bridges.
He looked at his son. His voice wasn’t loud, yet every word struck like a hammer.
“Get ready. You’re coming with me. We’re going to that farm on Planet A001.”
Zachary’s head snapped up, his eyes flashing with shock and resistance. “Dad?! Are you out of your mind? What are we supposed to go as? Elizabeth won’t even see us!”
“What are we going as?” Cesar scoffed, his gaze sharp as a blade. “You’re going as her former fiancé. As someone who once wronged her. As someone there to apologize and beg for her forgiveness.”
“Apologize and beg for her forgiveness?!” Zachary’s voice shot up like a startled cat whose tail had been stepped on. His face was flushed with anger and humiliation. “Why should I? I was the victim back then! She drugged me! She—”
“Enough!” Cesar cut him off sharply. His cold gaze choked off the rest of Zachary’s words. “The victim? Look at yourself. When you’re lying in bed trying to recover your mental power, who’s the victim? Elizabeth is now one of the Hewitts. She holds resources that might cure mental power. Mrs. Zaylee and Mrs. Hawthorne are her honored guests. Countless elites are begging just to meet her, and still fail. And you? What do you have besides that pathetic pride and your so-called “victim’ status?”
Cesar’s words lashed at Zachary like a whip, shredding the last scraps of self-deception and pride he clung to.
Zachary opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
Even Serefia was shaken by her husband’s unprecedented harshness and bluntness. She spoke timidly “pney. Zachary just needs time to come around…”
calm down…
“Is that the main point?” Cesar’s gaze swept over his wife and daughter before landing on his son’s pale face. His tone was firm, unyielding. “This isn’t about whether he can come around. It’s about whether the Knights will survive, whether we have a future. How much is his pride worth? Can it restore his mental power? Can it bring the family to a higher level?”
He stepped forward, cornering Zachary, his words grinding out through clenched teeth. “Listen to me, Zachary When we go to Planet A001, you will set aside every ounce of resentment, every grievance, and that ridiculous ‘victim’ act. You will keep your heat down and apologize to Elizabeth sincerely-for everything that happened back then, for how the Knights looked down on her, for
the slander, for it ail”
Zachary was shaken by the unhidden resolve in his father’s eyes, yet a trace of instinctive resistance still struggled within him.
He turned his head slightly, his voice weak. “What about Hannah..

“Hannah?” Cesar sounded as if he had heard a joke, his expression turning colder. “Can she restore your mental power? Can she provide you with the kind of support that the Hewitts or the Hawthornes can? Zachary, this is my final warning. Focus on what matters! When we go, you do exactly as Elizabeth commands. Fulfill every one of hex demands. As long as it satisfies her and she’s willing to take the Knights back, even if she makes you grovel, you’ll do it-understood?”
“Dad!” Zachary finally snapped. The feeling of being nothing more than a bargaining chip crushed his pride and flooded his mind with anger.
He jerked his head up, his eyes bloodshot. “What do you take me for? Someone who would throw away his pride for profit-”
Smack!
A sharp, resounding slap cut him off mid-sentence.
Cesar had used up all his strength.
