No matter what was happening on the far side of the stars no matter how many unknown dangers were out there–Tycoon Farm on Planet A001 remained calm, steady, and full of life.
Sunlight poured over the newly opened fields. Fine mist from the irrigation system formed tiny rainbows in the air. Fresh seedling swayed gently in the breeze, their young leaves stretching wide.
Workers moved busily through the fields. Tourists laughed and played nearby.
Elizabeth stood at the farm’s newly built private spaceport. Behind her were Desmond, Melton, Tiffany, and Skylar.
All of them were looking up at the same spot in the sky.
In the distance, a few black dots grew larger and larger. A low rumble filled the air–deep and different from the sound of civilian spaceships.
Ten spaceships, painted in gray–blue, came into view. They had no clear numbers or logos. Flying in perfect formation, they movec steadily toward the landing zone.
These spaceships weren’t new. In fact, they looked a little old.
Their hulls showed small scratches and marks from years of use. But that only gave them a tough, battle–worn feel.
Five of them were larger–classic mid–size transport and patrol spaceships.
The other five were smaller and more agile–light assault craft.
“hey didn’t look flashy. They even seemed a bit worn, very different from the sleek private spaceships parked outside the farm.
But everyone there–including Elizabeth–lit up with excitement.
One by one, the spaceships landed in their assigned spots. The engines powered down, and the doors slowly opened

The power core had backup systems. The life support system ran on independent loops. Strong connectors and pipeline channels ran throughout the spaceship.
This wasn’t scrap.
These were well–maintained, still–powerful spaceships–close to active–duty level
“Boss, look here!” Skylar said, like a kid who found treasure. He pointed under the main console at a panel that had been caref covered, but not fully hidden. “This is a standard tactical data link port for mid–size spaceships! The main computer might be downgraded, but the hardware is still here. And look at this armor…”
He knocked hard on the wall. A deep, solid sound echoed back. “This is at least twice as thick as civilian transport spaceships!
He ran to the side and pointed out the window at the outer hull. Faint lines like muscle patterns could be seen, along with a few small bumps. “See those? Those are mounting points for light energy weapons and defense systems! The weapons are gone, but he bases and power channels are still there! Oh my God–just a few upgrades, and this thing could easily take on regular pirates!”
