Chapter 555 A Gift From the Farm
Chapter 555 A Gift From the Farm
Elizabeth got the news before the inspection teams even left.
The one who told her, naturally, was her mother–in–law.

When Zaylee’s call came in, Elizabeth was crouched beside the Crackshell Crab farming pool, tossing energy stones into the water.
The pool was crystal clear. More than a dozen Crackshell Crabs moved slowly through the shallow water. Their blue–gray shells gave off a faint metallic glow beneath the surface.
Her device vibrated. She glanced down at the caller ID. Zaylee.
Elizabeth pulled off her gloves, brushed away the bits stuck to them, washed her hands by the pool, and answered the call.
Zaylee’s face appeared on the holographic screen.
She wore a dark green dress today. Her hair was loosely pinned behind her head, like she had just come back from a walk in the garden. She looked calm and elegant as always.
But Elizabeth noticed the slight lift in her brows and the tiny line near the corner of her eyes. Zaylee was not as relaxed as she looked.
“Eliza,” Zaylee said. Her voice was gentle but direct. “The Fifth Military team has already left. I assume you know that by now?” Elizabeth nodded. “Chief Quimby’s adjutant sent me a message. A six person inspection team. They should arrive this afternoon.” “Evander is leading them,” Zaylee said. “He’s one of Nicolas’s best field men. People call him efficient. What they really mean is ruthless. He rarely leaves an investigation empty–handed. If he wants to find trouble for you, he’ll find something.”
She paused there and studied Elizabeth through the screen, checking her expression. Then her tone softened slightly, “Don’t panic. Jeremy already sent Rafferty and his people. They’ll land before the Fifth Military team arrives. Rafferty won’t interfere with the inspection, but he’ll stay there the whole time and record everything. Evander’s people won’t dare mess with the process openly Her voice dropped a little lower. “But if they ignore procedure anyway…” A cold sharpness appeared in her eyes, completely different from her usual graceful demeanor. “You don’t need to fear them. Jacob has already spoken to First Military. Nicolas’s people won’t be allowed to run wild on Planet A001.” She looked at Elizabeth. “Remember this. No matter what you’re doing, no matter how far you go down this road, we stand with you. If you want to farm, then farm. If you want to raise pigs, then raise pigs. If you want to raise Cluckoo Chickens, then do so. And if anyone dares come after you for it, I’ll break every hand they reach out with.” D
She didn’t raise her voice. When she said she would break their hands one by one, her tone stayed calm and steady.
But somehow, that calmness carried more weight than shouting ever could.
Elizabeth did not doubt that if the Fifth Military truly tried something dirty on Planet A001, Zaylee absolutely had the power and the determination–to make them pay for it.
A small smile curved at the corner of Elizabeth’s lips. Warm. Genuine.
“Don’t worry,” she said softly. Her voice was as calm as a windless afternoon over open grasslands. “My farm follows every regulation. Every permit was approved through official channels. Every step can survive any level of inspection. If they want to investigate, let them. I have nothing to fear”

Zaylee watched her quietly through the holographic screen. The tightness in her brow slowly eased.
She studied Elizabeth fora few more seconds, as if trying to decide whether that confidence was real.
And soon, she realized it was.
Elizabeth was not pretending to stay calm. She truly had confidence.
Zaylee was about to say something else when Elizabeth suddenly remembered something. She tilted her head slightly, her eyes lighting up. “Oh, right. I had someone send a few things to your house. They should arrive soon. They’re some new products from the farm. Cluckoo Eggs, plus a few fresh Crackshell Crab dishes. The crabs were caught early this morning. We steamed one batch and made another with spicy seasoning. I packed a few dipping sauces too. Everything’s in insulated containers, so it should still be hot when it gets there. You should eat them while they’re fresh. Once the crab meat cools down, the texture won’t be as good.”
