Karl was engrossed in making new items at the Mythic Rank, both powerful combat items and utility items with mana storage and domestic buffs, when he began to notice that something was changing in both his own mana and the Tiny World.
The energy was beginning to shift, and he could feel it spreading.
For a while, he continued to work, making items as he basked in the power of the new energy.
Then, he realized what it was.
He had left the entrance partially open to balance the Tiny World with the outside world, but they were next to an entire herd of Immortal Realm Hippos. The beasts were saturated with Immortal Energy, which was different from the mana of the Mortal Realms, and not just the space, but Karl’s body were beginning to adapt to creating and maintaining it. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
In a way, that was a great thing.
The energy density of the Immortal Realms dwarfed anything that the Mortal Realms could claim, and it was because of this change in the way their mana formed.
But it also wasn’t conducive to remaining a Mortal.
Now that his body had started to produce Immortal Energy, he was going to be dragged into tribulation, and probably not with much warning or ability to delay it.
And he wasn’t the only one that noticed.
Obviously, the first to notice was Dana, as the Soul Bond was pulling her up to the same level and adapting her body to Immortal Realm mana without any active input on her part.
In fact, it was against her will, as she was trying to write skill books, which took precision mana control.
However, there wasn’t anything that she could do to stop the progression either, and the Tiny World seemed to be enthusiastically eager to incorporate the Immortal Realm’s energy.
It had done this before, as she recalled. But the amount was minimal. This time, Karl hadn’t noticed the issue until long after it started, and he had left a secondary entrance open next to the Hippos for hours.
At this point, they might as well just continue and finish rebalancing the energy.
If nothing else, it would be good for the progression of the beasts.
Cara was practically basking in the power.
Whether that was because she was a Chaos Badger, a species that wasn’t native to the Mortal worlds at all, or whether it was just because she was Cara, Karl didn’t know. But it was definitely beneficial to her.
She also wasn’t particularly concerned about triggering the Immortal Tribulation.
She was a Chaos Badger.
What was the worst that could happen? It singed her fur and she had to [Disintegrate] it to teach it some respect? She could do that.
Dana had to work hard not to laugh out loud at Cara’s certainty that you could teach Tribulation Lightning respect.
