The next morning came fast in the Immortal World, and Karl briefly wondered if there was a difference in the length of the days, only to have his System Interface cheerfully inform him that it was currently half past five in the morning, and someone was knocking on their door.
"If that’s Nyan, I am going to cover her in glitter and throw her to Lotus and Button." Karl complained as he got out of bed.
"Ophelia will murder you if you get them covered in glitter."
Karl dressed in a seat of black robes that Rae had made, then frowned at his human hands, not used to seeing them after so much time in Cat Demon form.
Also, he was short.
Well, not short by human standards, he was still a bit over a hundred eighty centimetres tall. But he was a full ten centimetres shorter than he was used to being.
He briefly considered using [Behemoth] to adjust his size, but gave up and left his size in its natural state.
When he swung the door open, Nyan was waiting outside, still in her pajamas.
"Good morning. The breakfast buffet is open, and it’s best to go early so that they don’t sell out of the good stuff before we get there. They hate having leftovers, so they stop refilling it later in the morning."
Behind him, Dana laughed at the catgirl’s wild hair and flannel pajamas. She was clearly too excited about getting here for breakfast.
"Alright, give me thirty seconds to get ready and I will join you. Come in, no need to wait in the hallway."
Cara straightened herself and adjusted her hair into a three row braid, separating the white from the black sections, then came out to join them.
"So, what do they have for breakfast? Something good? Rare plant Immortal resources? Baked treats?" She asked.
"Uh, mostly not Immortal Ranked? It’s just breakfast, not some special feast. But it’s really good."
Cara shrugged. "That’s fine. We can go out and make new friends, and that’s enough for day two."
Nyan looked at the small round ears on the badger’s head, and began to panic about how she could tell Cara that half the Clan would demand that she be thrown out, while most of the others would be afraid to let her near them once they realized that she was a Chaos Badger, not a beastkin.
However...
If she didn’t tell them, they wouldn’t know, right? They could all go for breakfast, explore the Clan compound, and then she could see what the new Immortals did for training.
Maybe it would help her, since they also had an uncommon System.
Most of the Immortals in this world were either from here or from a half dozen powerful Mortal Worlds that generated regular Immortal advancements.
The only other one from her world was The Moron, and his mind was so cracked that he wasn’t a lot of help.
