Chapter 1551: Start Copying

They had four Inscriptionists in total among the Elders.

"So, who is going to open it and get us started?" One of the Elders asked.

Everyone hesitated, and Karl sighed. "I will. I am not an Inscriptionist, but I know the skill, so there is no risk of me activating it."

Karl used [Reverse Gravity], one of Leo’s core skills, to flip the cover open, and the Skill book shone with faint golden light as it settled to the first page.

The Elders sighed. The pages were nearly translucent, they were so thin. This was going to be an immense amount of work to copy. But they could copy it, that much was clear.

Even if some of them failed, they could put it in the Skill Library as study material to help acolytes research new skills they weren’t compatible with the books for.

Given that there were multiple systems in this world, and that they had come not only from multiple mortal and immortal worlds, but also multiple Gods, there was always a chance that not being able to use a skill book did not mean you could not learn the skill.

They all took out their supplies, then realized that there was a minor issue. None of them could agree on what materials were needed to copy the book. They all had different interpretations of the requirements, and none knew which was right.

"Well, we can all make the book, and see what works. Just take notes of the methods so that there are no mistakes when it’s done the next time." The Clan Leader suggested.

It was also possible that more than one method would turn out a functional book, given that they all had slightly different skills.

Elder Socrate smiled at Karl and Dana.

"Why don’t we head out? They’ll be at this for ages, and I have work to do back at the Alchemy Hall. The staff were sad to see you finish your time."

"I should go to the Skill Hall and work on finding something that will help me finish my Immortal Spirit.

Dana has a skill for it, but I don’t. So, I’m going to have to put in the work to finish the process."

Elder Socrate cleared his throat. "There are many waiting for you to return and use the Obelisk that you built. Now that you’ve finished your show with the new skill, they all want to see what sort of class you can awaken."

"Right, we were doing something before we got distracted, weren’t we?

Alright, let’s head back to the Obelisk, and I will try to get a new Class. Who knows, even the Dana Mage might get something that she likes."

They made their way out of the Clan Leader’s home, much to her dismay, as she now realized that she had to flip the pages herself and risk accidentally triggering the book.

But Socrate hadn’t been joking about everyone waiting for them to come back.

The Immortals had a great deal of patience, and with the promise of another spectacle after Karl had activated his last trump card skill in preparation to advance, none of them wanted to go home yet.

Even Nyan was there, holding Geoff in her arms as the baby dragon napped.
