Chapter 1594: Oathbreaker

Karl’s team wouldn’t be the only one with a tank that had damage reduction, but it was only really a focus for the Druids who used Bear Form or other transformations to fight.

Curiously, Min, who had advanced to a Forest Stalker Druid with a spectral cat form, was taking much less damage than everyone else.

Her form must negate some extra damage on top of what Karl shared.

Technically, Rae was in a spectral form at this point as well, trying to get an edge on the Oathbreaker. But it didn’t seem to make any difference. The damage spread hadn’t changed, even though she was a bit faster than without the buff.

Warbeast had given her extra armour as well, and Rae was in her full glory fighting something so incredibly Stabby.

Opal was not.

That damnable demon kept destroying every attempt at creating a proper Illusionary Domain. The spreading damage simply shattered the spell every few seconds.

It seemed illogical, but the agility type demon was actually a hard counter to illusions.

Cara was thoroughly enjoying the fight. Oathbreaker was happy to try to crush her with the long claws on his feet, and she was happy to try to tickle him.

With [Chaos Vortex] to the bottom of his feet, naturally.

The Demon was showing signs of heavy damage now, and he wouldn’t last much longer. But it didn’t care. It had found the fight that it wanted against Rae, and the concept of [Offensive Adaptation], which had now evolved to [Predation], was the greatest skill that the demon had ever seen.

If only it could have that skill.

The more it damaged, the more it would do, and it damaged everything, all the time. What better combination could there be?

The group’s healers whistled, and Min stopped her attacks.

"Fine. I will join in. Heals incoming. This is insane, one [Mana Pylon] isn’t going to be enough to keep us going forever." The warehouse clerk complained.

Unfortunately, the Pylons wouldn’t stack their effect.

Tian hopped up on her back and began to add his own healing to the fray while he played his zither for inspiration.

Karl was definitely getting him more bard class skills after this trip.

The little fox had given up on [Vicious Mockery] for this fight. What could he even criticize? Besides, he didn’t want to get stabbed.

He was small and fluffy, not armoured.

Slowly, even Tian and Min’s mana began to run low, but Oathbreaker was down two arms now, and clearly on his last breath.

He still didn’t slow down.

The boss fought as hard at the end of the fight as he had at the start, and simply collapsed from blood loss at the end.

{Reward Granted}

{First Clear Bonus Granted}

"Winning! Hey, why are we the first to beat him? Didn’t everyone else start earlier? Does that mean none of them have finished the fight?" Leo asked.

"Do you think that any of the other groups could actually beat that boss?" Dana asked.

Leo shrugged. He hadn’t seen many other people fight, so it didn’t seem unreasonable that most of them would have someone at least as powerful as Karl or Dana.

All they had to do was block most of the attacks, right?
