Chapter 1649: Alarms

Karl had every intention of asking the regressed dragons about the tutoring after dinner.

He really did.

But what happened between getting the meal and Button forgetting that you had to chew foods for reasons other than combining flavours was not conducive to actually asking much of anything.

The first alarms went off just after Button was breathing properly again, and everyone went into panic mode.

The eggs were hatching.

However, nobody had thought to make the tones for the alarms different, so for the first few seconds, everyone was in a panic, and none of them knew which zone’s alarm had been triggered.

The answer was yes.

All of them.

There were eggs hatching in every cluster around the Tiny World, according to Karl’s oversight of the space, and the only ones that weren’t showing signs of hatching yet were Tessa’s, which were much younger than the rest.

"Everyone to their stations. This is not a drill.

There are eggs hatching in every nest, and if you want to bond with them, or are in charge of helping them hatch safely, you are needed now." Karl informed them.

"Crap, all of them? Alright, it’s go time. To the forest!" Lotus shouted.

"You might want to put Brother Chin down before you run off."

"No."

Then, the cleric was off and running, with a small white form laughing in her arms.

Chin didn’t mind, he was a white dragon, and they were going to a dragon hatching, where if anyone was coming out a bit too weak, or crippled from birth, he could help mend them and get them back on the right path.

Healing was the specialty of his species and their patron God.

Keeping young dragons healthy and happy was as much their priority as it was the Red Dragons, but in a different way. Instead of focusing on raising them, they focused on helping them recover from errors.

Because young dragons made a lot of them.

He hadn’t quite realized how true that was until he got here a day ago, and saw what raising dragons outside of the rigid structure and rules of the temple looked like. When you let young dragons simply roam during every hour that they were not in school, they got into all sorts of trouble, but it was always trouble related to the nature of their species.

For example, Button never got lost in the woods. That was nearly impossible for a Forest Dragon.
