Chapter 1651: Rare Bloodlines

Once the Storm Dragon hatched, the others were not far behind.

Before the tiny blue dragon could finish the first plate of fish, another egg cracked, and a magnificent white and silver dragon, with large leathery wings, burst free from its confinement and roared in annoyance at the lingering shell pieces on its body, as if that would make them move.

And to Karl’s surprise, it did.

The little one was a wind element dragon of a species Karl did not recognize, and his breath contained the Fundamental Rule of Wind right from birth.

All he had to do was will it, and the wind would blow hard enough to scrub his soft scales clean.

The Matriarch picked him up out of the nest before his antics could disturb the others, and placed him on the table of dragon food, so that he could pick.

"Little one, I will be caring for you and this clutch. Choose your first meal, and we will record it as your favourite." She explained.

The Wind Dragon frowned, his brow scrunched in concentration.

He was newly born, but they already had such difficult tasks for him? Ha! He would not let this strange red dragon defeat him in a game of logic.

With a proud screech, he spread his wings, intending to claim the whole table, only to realize that at his size, he could barely cover one plate. So, he improvised. He grabbed a few pieces of everything that smelled good and tossed them into a pile, then protectively guarded it.

"Noted. The Wind Dragon is a foodie." Matron Aliah noted.

Karl watched the confusion as more eggs began to hatch, and then looked off into the distance, where they could see more of the clutches starting to become active.

"Should we get back in flight so that we can watch more of the hatchings?" He asked as Dana smiled down at the shaking nest.

"No, let’s wait here, we can watch the others at a distance.

The only one that we can’t see from here is the Forest nest, and that one’s got both Lotus and Button at it, so the hatchlings are definitely not going to be left to fend for themselves." Dana joked.

"True, and Nyan is over there with Thor, Tessa and the grassland group. I wonder where Nachtia went?" Karl asked.

He could search for her in the Tiny World, but with so much activity that would be more annoyance than simply guessing.

"She’s inside the mountain. There are some shadow and earth element dragon eggs that responded better to being underground than in the woods or in the grass.

So we put them there to grow.
