The First Legendary Beast Master novel Chapter 1681

Chapter 1681: Trapped the Elf

A sharp whistle caught Karl’s attention, and one of the Elves waved them over to the beach, where they were preparing breakfast for everyone working in the area, and the ones who liked to sleep near the beach.

There were actual houses here, closer to huts or yurts than a permanent structure, but that was what the Druids and Clerics preferred.

They were also more comfortable in the humid heat of the region.

They also apparently found that the new clothes Rae made for them were highly comfortable. They were breezy, did not trap heat, but kept the morning sun off your body.

They were too thin to help much with the afternoon sun, but the Elves on kitchen duty didn’t mind.

They were used to moving into the shade to work.

"What exactly have you dressed your Elves as?" Elder Douglas asked as he saw them starting to plate up dinner for the hatchlings.

"It’s something that Rae made. You see, I met an Elder from some Pavilion Sect, and admired her outfit. But so did Rae, and now she’s made it in green for the residents here."

The Elder nodded solemnly. "I may have underrated the truly cultured upbringing of Lady Rae."

"{What’s cultured upbringing mean?}" Tena asked from her spot in Karl’s arms.

"It means she has a great appreciation for all things artistic."

The little dragon nodded, filing that information away. Then she hopped down to rush over for the meat trays that the chefs were setting out. They had roasted some and left others raw, so Tena could pick through to find her favourites.

Watching the little dragons tearing into a huge pile of meat, some of them ravenous, some delicate, was entertaining in a way that Karl hadn’t expected. But the older that they got, the more that they were developing their own personalities.

At first, it was always hungry or sleepy.

Now, they were starting to develop hobbies. And with hobbies came the chance to do all sorts of new things.

For example, the little ones were planning a swimming competition later, with the water species against the swamp species. They had a budding rivalry going, now that they had met each other and realized that they were very similar, but had different tastes.

Among young dragons, everything could be made into a challenge.

Karl and the Elder were enjoying breakfast on the beach when a bleary-eyed Anilla came over with Shade, her Divine Moor Cat. They had obviously been training all night long, and the girl looked exhausted.

"Good Morning, Mister Karl. Uh, I think I need some help leaving. My mom is really mad that I didn’t come back last night, and didn’t send her a proper message, other than a System Message that I was training."

Karl laughed. "Well, if you’re going to get your ass whooped, you might as well do it on a full stomach.

Have breakfast first, and then I will bring you to your mother and cover for you. Don’t worry, I’m pretty good at it."
