"If there is going to be big trouble, we should likely send you back home. You’re a bit young to be joining in on the fight. That usually comes after the System Activates." Karl noted.
Cara shook her head. "Don’t send him back directly. They’re waiting for you to expose the Tiny World. I can almost guarantee it."
That would make sense. They were after the Captain’s storage rings, which were a form of pocket dimension. So, they would likely be trying to track all similar magic, and that would reveal the Tiny World to them if Karl activated the opening to it right now.
"So, do you think we should move to an open spot?" Karl asked the Captain.
"Yes, that sounds like a good idea. Someone, gather the bodies that can’t be revived and bring back someone to question. I will move to the empty cargo area, away from the ship." The Captain ordered.
Cara handed Yewan a cupcake, and the little dragon happily munched as he rode Karl’s shoulder to the site of the next likely battle.
She passed the Elf one as well, a special collaboration between Remi and Lotus that gave the target an enhanced regeneration rate, and the group waited in the empty cargo staging area for the inevitable attack.
Yewan counted down on his claws, 4...3...2...1...1...1 there it was.
A pair of Ascended Immortals appeared in front of them, blades drawn.
"Don’t think that you can escape justice today," the new arrival declared, his tone dripping with disdain.
Elder Malcolm ran over with the crew of the ship, but found them all blocked from the clearing by a barrier stronger than he could easily break through.
Now, he wasn’t one of the strongest Elders, but he was an Ascended Immortal, and it shouldn’t be that hard to break a barrier made by someone on his level, as these two were.
Which meant that it was likely a Supreme Ranked artifact, and Karl was in trouble.
Or, something like trouble.
The Elder had very little faith that Karl would actually lose a fight, even if he was down by over a full stage.
"You can’t have my baby dragon." Karl retorted, while Yewan giggled hysterically.
The two Immortals seemed to take that as a personal insult, while the Elf assumed that the little dragon had simply foreseen the outcome of this battle, and found only good things.
Karl summoned everything that he could, surrounding the battle in undead, and then transformed into Cat Demon form before handing the dragon to Cara.
"Keep that safe for me. And wipe the icing off his face."
The Immortals scoffed. They were so much more powerful than the undead horde that they didn’t take it the least bit seriously. Only when Karl coated everyone in [Eternal Lightning] did they begin to consider that this might not be going their way.
"Just kill them already," the other insisted as he activated a series of defensive skills.
Cara handed Yewan to Karl’s Epic Guard, the Treant dryad assassin, who looked a lot like the Haint Claw’s matured form.
The Epic Guard simply shrugged, and settled Yewan against her chest to watch the fight. She could Shadow Step if they got in trouble, which made her a decent choice to hold the little one.
Even if she had no idea what was going on.
She hadn’t been out in a while. Now suddenly, there were baby dragons, and Immortals trying to kill them. But she was Immortal now too, which was nice.
