Chapter 1739: Not In The Library

The moment that Opal appeared, she activated her Illusionary Domain, and then placed the whole thing inside a [Pet Space] pocket dimension.

The warriors felt themselves being shifted, but as the Illusion matched perfectly to the Library, they couldn’t tell what had changed in time to try to stop Opal. So, while they realized that something had changed around them, none of them realized that they were no longer in the Library at all, and were actually in a separate space completely controlled by Opal.

Ghostly voices howled from the shelves, and pinpricks of red light appeared in the shadows as the lights in the room began to dim.

"Shit. Necromancer," one of the warriors cursed, as he moved to protect the rear flanks of his group from ambush.

None of them could spot the Necromancer. They could sense the Lycan, the old man and the snake. But everyone else was hidden from their senses.

But there had to be someone else here.

The Golem Mistress hadn’t created the ghouls in the library, but they could feel the chill in their bones as the creatures tried to suck away their life essence.

Opal was using [Soul Harvest] on all hostile targets within the space, but because they hadn’t realized that they were in a separate space yet, they thought that it was the ghosts.

Dana had already realized what the former butterfly was doing, but she was holding position, waiting for the warriors to do something.

The longer that she delayed, the more that they were losing to the effects of [Soul Harvest], and the more gain that Opal, or perhaps Opal and Karl, would get from the fight.

"Screw this. Grab her and let’s go. This place is creeping me out."

The warrior shuddered as he could have sworn that he felt a fingernail trace its way up his neck.

And then his head separated from his body as Rae turned corporeal.

"I am deeply disappointed in you as a friend. You didn’t even call me."

Dana smiled. "I knew you’d be here when you were ready."

The casual conversation snapped the surviving warriors out of their frozen stupor, and a volley of skills launched at Rae, who simply wasn’t there anymore by the time that they landed.

Shadow Step was faster than their attack skills, and she had turned incorporeal with [Night Haunter] again.

But Rae wasn’t in a hurry.

There were more than enough idiots to go around, and Sister Opal had big plans for them. Not counting what was about to happen to them as Dana’s bear realized that these were actual bad guys, not just clowns.

The Spirit Bear Tyrant was figuring it out quickly, even without a direct order from Dana.

She had shrunk it down to the point that it looked harmless to the warriors. But that didn’t change its stats, and a full-strength Spirit Bear Tyrant in a 100kg body could move far faster than anyone expected.

The bear slammed into the lead warrior, who slammed his blade into it, using [Sunder] to attempt to split the furry golem in half.

Only, nothing happened.

The Spirit Bear was immune to physical element damage, and simply shrugged it off after being knocked to the ground.

Dana gave the warriors a cruel smile as she motioned for the Oathbreakers to move forward, and then drew her sword as she shifted the Spirit Bear back to full size.

"Oh, we’re going to have so much fun," Oathbreaker laughed as he twirled all four swords in his hands.

"They’re just Golems. They only look intimidating. We’ve got this," the leader of the group assured his minions.
