Chapter 1897: Rae Cleared The Way

Karl rested on one knee as he recovered from the blast, ignoring the fact that his [Bestial Raiment] armour was shredded, and his skin was mostly covered in the black mist of his regenerative abilities.

The boss was down, and now they could rest and prepare for the next one.

But first, a moment to celebrate with Hawk.

The bird laughed as Rae grumbled. She was clearly working harder for her advancement than that lazy bird, who hadn’t even come out to fight, and had spent all his time napping and thinking about fire.

Karl refreshed his armour and shook off the lingering ache in his muscles from the blast, while trying to ignore the tingling of the massive amount of Soul and Life Energy that were being pulled into his body by the Haint and the Sword of Champions.

"Mister Karl, your aura feels a bit unstable. Are you alright? Do you need more time to heal? I see your health as being fully recovered," the healer asked.

"I’m fine. I just had a bonded beast advance, and I absorbed a bit of excess life energy. Give me a moment and I will stabilize my Power Matrix. In the meantime, we can walk to the next boss.

Lady Rae has cleared the way for us."

The group looked down the path and saw that Karl wasn’t joking. There were no more groups between them and the second boss. There were also only three bosses in the dungeon, so the spider was likely going to clear everything but the bosses before they got the second one killed.

"Give me two minutes to change my gear a bit. I think that I know what we need for this next fight," Karl decided.

The group looked confused, but after the last fight, most of Karl’s constructs were destroyed, so they had to wait anyhow. If he didn’t bring them up, there was no chance that they were going to be able to deal with another Supreme Ranked boss, even if the next one was pure physical damage.

That might be easier on Karl, but if the boss hit them all with a [Cleave] type skill, the effect on the rest of the group wouldn’t be any different. They simply weren’t built for that sort of abuse, the way that the Avatar of the World Dragon was.

Karl took out a pair of bracelets, and began writing an inscription on them as the group watched.
