Chapter 1924: Darklight Altruism?

Before long, the whole dungeon was cleared, and everyone was gathered at the door again, with the summoned creatures dismissed and the beasts in their spaces.

"This has been a most productive dungeon. How about the same time next week? Morning runs seem best, when there’s so much to mine," The Yizimon Elder suggested.

Karl checked with Dana, then nodded. "That works for us. We will let you know if something comes up, but setting up a schedule will help keep the resource flow to the workshops filled."

"That is true. With a growing Guild, there is never enough material. We don’t even take all that many new members, since nobody wants to join a Mining Clan. But even with that, we still struggle to keep up with orders and resources for members."

Dana gave him a gentle smile. "We also sponsor a Dragon Orphanage, so we need materials for the hatchlings as well."

"Damn, filthy rich, talented, and altruistic? Is the Darklight Host just going for Immortal Guild of the decade?"

Dana laughed. "Mostly it’s that Karl collects things at a level that most would call hoarding, and not all of them are nonliving things. He managed to get a hundred abandoned dragon eggs at once, so we’ve got an inordinate number of hatchlings."

"That’s a story we need to hear at some point. It’s not just anyone who can end up with a hundred dragon eggs, and not have a world ending invasion by the Dragon Church on their hands."

Dana laughed. "We recruited the Red Dragons to run the orphanage. Who else would be suitable to raise hatchlings? Besides, the Black Dragon and his avatars have a particular aversion to letting Beast Master type classes bond dragons."

Karl in particular, as they weren’t all that concerned about Lotus, except for the fact that she was connected to Karl.

One day, they would learn what the big deal was.

The teams separated, and Karl led the way back to the Guild House, where everyone was waiting to see what they had brought back.

It was no secret that Karl had just finished two high-ranking dungeons, so there should definitely be some crafting materials for the Guild. He didn’t ever bother with gear, after all.

Why would he, when he could make better gear than what dropped in the dungeons?

"Welcome back, Branch Leader. Or should we say Elders? Congratulations on making it to Ascended Immortal. That’s got to be a new record of some sort, even for the Divine Beast species, it usually takes a decade or more to make it that far after birth." Elder Blackwood greeted Karl and Dana as the portal opened outside the Guild House.
