Chapter 1946: The Other Kind Of Customer

"Greetings customers, you look like this is your first visit to the Darklight Host Guild store. Was there anything in particular that you were looking for? Perhaps something suited to your Clan’s technique?

We specialize in making recruitment items for Acolytes, as well as custom pieces targeted to specific styles," Karl greeted the mixed group of Peak Immortals who had just come into the shop.

The Immortals stared at the strange sight in front of them. A man from a species that they couldn’t quite identify, or perhaps cultivating some strange technique that altered his body, was flanked by two Dark Elven Priestesses, and what appeared to be a fourteen year old Lycan girl.

And they were standing under a row of peerless grade items that were very clearly made by the Guild’s crafters.

But even that was not the strangest part.

The man was labelled as being an Epic Grade creature, and he held the title of Branch Leader.

What sort of strange place had they been sent to this time?

"We were informed by a friend of the Clan that your Guild has many interesting items for sale. We missed out on them when they went up for auction at the docks near our Clan, so we were hoping that there might be more here for sale."

Karl nodded. "Oh, from the Elves’ sales. Yes, we have more similar items to that, as we are producing them for the next fleet.

What can we get for you?"

"That item on the shelf. It looks like a peerless grade item for those who have the [Stone Crusher] attack ability, an Epic Grade warrior skill. Do you have items for warriors that specialize in other skills."

"We do, but you’ve misunderstood. The item is for those who do not have the skill, as the item allows you to use the skill when you attack without knowing it.

In fact, if you use it enough, there is a very low chance that you can actually learn it without a skill book," Karl explained.

"You... are selling an item that grants an Epic Grade skill?"

"But only when you’re using it." Karl agreed.

The men didn’t seem to know what to say to that. It was the most preposterous thing that they had been told this decade, and the item was far more extreme than what the Elves had been selling.

But what sort of price would the Darklight Host demand for something like that?

"May I know the asking price for that item?"

Karl shrugged. "We do all Peerless Grade items strictly on barter for magical materials and other resources. Plants, ores, resources of all sorts, but not magical items unless they are exceptionally interesting.

I’m sure you understand, as we are a crafting guild."

Essentially, Karl was telling them to name their price, and he would tell them if he found it acceptable. And that put them on the spot, as they had to guess the value of their resources in this region, the value of the item, and how much of a markup Karl would want for the fact that Peerless grade items were so rarely sold.

Seeing their hesitation, Karl relented. "You can go by the System value for both items plus ten percent sales fee. The Guild will accept nearly all forms of crafting materials in exchange."
