The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 110

"What mission?"

Hearing it involved his grandmother, a flash of suspicion crossed Julian's face.

"To tidy up your place, of course!" Mika stepped around a pair of limited-edition sneakers on the floor, her eyes sweeping over the apartment in awe.

"Looks like I've got my work cut out for me!"

A wave of embarrassment washed over Julian's face. When he spoke again, his voice hitched slightly with defensive anger.

"I... I don't need you to clean anything. I know how to handle my own mess!"

Julian knew his apartment was a disaster. Before the accident, he'd actually been a bit of a neat freak.

But now, he had no choice.

Confined to a wheelchair, he couldn't reach anything high up. Over time, he had no choice but to stack all his daily necessities lower and lower to the ground.

After living in the clutter for so long, he had gotten used to it.

But having his private sanctuary exposed to Mika—a girl he already disliked—made him feel overwhelmingly exposed and humiliated.

"You call this handling it?" Mika glanced around again, crossing her arms and shaking her head with an exaggerated sigh.

"Look, it's not like I'm dying to clean for you. Mrs. Remington said if I commit to a weekly cleaning session, she'll waive my rent!

Just bear with me. I promise I'll leave the second I'm done, okay?"

But Julian was clearly triggered by her tone of disgust. He rolled his wheelchair forward, trying to chase her out.

"Get out! I don't need you interfering in my life!"

Mika easily skipped back two steps, watching him with calm amusement.

The next second, Julian's wheelchair got awkwardly stuck on his own scattered shoes at the edge of the entryway.

"Having too much stuff gets in the way, doesn't it?" Mika teased, her gorgeous eyes gleaming mischievously behind her thick frames.

"Honestly, if you're that against it, I won't force you. But I promised Mrs. Remington I'd send her pictures to show her how you're doing.

Should I snap a few photos right now, or wait until after I clean up and send her a spotless version?"

Julian froze, clearly backed into a corner.

Letting Mika see the mess was, at worst, humiliating.

But if his grandmother saw it, it would be a total disaster.

She would panic, pity him, and probably call his parents and his aunt to hold another intervention about hiring a live-in maid.
