The smile on the manager's face stiffened for a split second.
No matter how you looked at them, this mother-daughter duo seemed like clueless walk-ins. On any other day, she wouldn't have bothered greeting them personally.
But the headquarters executive had specifically called to relay that the young boss ordered two Gold cards to be gifted to them.
A Gold card was nothing spectacular at this spa, but since it was a direct order from Lucas, that changed everything. It meant these two had some sort of connection to him.
If she botched this up and they complained to Lucas about the branch, her entire career could take a massive hit.
The manager chuckled and patted Damaris's arm.
"Darling, you must be joking! Why didn't you tell us you were friends with the boss?
I was so worried we hadn't taken proper care of you, which is why I came over to check."
"Your boss?" Mika played dumb, flashing a look of pure confusion.
"Lucas, of course!" The manager guided them toward the front desk. "To be precise, he's the owner's son, so he's basically our young boss."
As she spoke, she pulled two gold envelopes and two luxury gift bags from behind the counter.
"Lucas specifically instructed us to give you each a Gold membership card, loaded with a thirty-thousand-dollar balance.
Next time you visit, please don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything at all."
"Oh my god, you mean Lucas!?" Damaris couldn't hide her true colors, her face blooming into a massive, ecstatic grin.
"He just throws around sixty grand like it's nothing?!"
She practically lunged forward to grab the cards.
Mika immediately reached out, grabbing her mother's arm, and spoke with hesitant embarrassment.
"I don't think this is a good idea. It's too expensive. Please tell him we appreciate the thought, but we really can't accept these."
