The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 59

Noticing the movement beside him, Julian casually turned his head, casting his light amber eyes toward her.

His slightly curly, tea-brown hair made him look like a fluffy puppy. With his refined, striking features and superior mixed-race genetics, he looked like a boy who had walked straight out of a comic book.

"Mika?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as a bright smile spread across his lips.

Leona had clearly already told him about Mika moving in.

"Hi there," Mika said, offering a sweet, friendly smile.

She set her groceries aside, confidently stepped up to him, and leaned down to extend her right hand.

"You must be Julian. I just moved in today. Sorry for imposing on you and Mrs. Remington!"

"Just call me Julian."

Julian shook her hand lightly, the smile on his lips deepening.

He seemed perfectly fine with the sudden addition of a stranger to his home.

"By the way, my mobility isn't great. Could you do me a favor?"

"Sure, what is it?"

He looked up, his gaze returning to the butterfly trapped in the web in the corner, and pointed to an overturned red plastic watering scoop on the stone table.

"I want to save that butterfly, but I don't want to touch the web with my bare hands. Could you hand me that scoop?"

"Of course." Eager to score some points with him, Mika grabbed the scoop without hesitation to hand it to Julian.

But the moment she turned her wrist, she saw a spider the size of her palm clinging to the inside of the scoop.

Startled by the sudden exposure to light, its hairy legs scrambled wildly, nearly crawling right onto the webbing of Mika's hand.

"Ah!"

Mika instinctively hurled the scoop away. The spider hit the dirt in the vegetable patch and scurried completely out of sight in seconds.

But Mika was still reeling.
